Meet Dolores (Didi) Gomez-Hayes of Virginia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dolores (Didi) Gomez-Hayes.

Dolores (Didi), we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story is a journey of structure meeting soul, and it didn’t happen overnight. Born and raised in Queens, New York, I’ve always had an adventurous, creative spirit.
Influenced by my Puerto Rican and Irish/German lineage, along with the Black American/inner city culture and broad diversity of my community, my worldview was never really a rigid box of beliefs or behaviors. I was always a very curious person – with an undying optimism and deep love for life.

I started out on my entrepreneurial journey, late in life, while still in a corporate 9-to-5 career as a health information data administrator for a major hospital organization. I spent my days managing complex data systems, but deep down, I knew I was meant to build something of my own. Influenced by the tragedies I witnessed duringthe Covid pandemic, I took a leap of faith and launched GomeZmerize Enterprise. At the time, I didn’t have a crystal-clear vision of what it would eventually become, but the underlying driving force has always been the same: a deep passion for music, community, and helping people build lasting impact.
To ground that big vision into a practical, functioning business model, I stepped into the digital agency space. I formed GomeZmerize LLC and launched Digi-Haze Digital Services & Agency as a DBA. It all started incredibly close to home—building and managing my husband’s website. From that single foundation, I scaled Digi-Haze into a full-service agency, helping local business clients master their digital infrastructure and web presence.
But while I was building digital platforms for others, the true heartbeat of the GomeZmerize brand – Legacies Created – was always humming in the background, waiting for its moment to take center stage.

I realized that the same mathematical precision I used to manage hospital data and digital websites could be used to unlock human potential. By combining Pythagorean Numerology (the math of our innate blueprints) with live music (the ultimate emotional frequency), I plan to create real, visceral human connection.

Today, I’ve taken my business full circle. I’ve been stepping out from behind the screens and bringing Legacies Created directly into the local community. The (working) plan is executing live, local, intergenerational events that bridge cultural and generational gaps – collaborating with local vendors on-site to bring youth and elders together through interactive musical eras and numerical insights.
I went from organizing data in a hospital to organizing digital code for businesses, and now, I am developing a self-sustaining ecosystem where our community’s true legacies are being honored and preserved.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been anything but a smooth road, but I’ve come to realize that the roughest roads are exactly where our truest foundations are forged.
To build a brand called Legacies Created, I first had to navigate the breakdown and rebuilding of my own.
One of the most profound and painful struggles of my recent life has been my awakening out of structured, institutional religion. Walking away from rigid dogma to find a more Universal truth brought a heavy season of isolation, creating a deep painful rift and estrangement from close relatives who couldn’t understand my shift. But that isolation birthed an unstoppable determination within me. It made me realize how many people are sitting in the dark, feeling disconnected, unaware that they carry a brilliant, unique divine spark inside them that is meant to help them evolve – not live in fear.

That search for alignment also required me to look backward and heal my own past. Earlier in my life, before I understood my own intense energetic blueprint, that internal fire didn’t have a constructive channel. I went through intense episodes of substance and drug abuse, and at one point, the traditional system slapped me with the label of being ‘Manic.’
But I refused to let a clinical label define my destiny!
Over time, I turned that chaotic energy into applied discipline. I completely transformed my relationship with substances. Today, I practice strict cannabis control – viewing it never as an escape, but purely as a purposeful, sacred tool indulged only on rare occasions for deeper reflection and meaning.

This lifetime of feeling isolated, mislabeled, and misunderstood is exactly why I am so fiercely passionate about community outreach.
When I look at an elder in a residential facility who feels forgotten, or a young person who feels completely detached from society, I see humans, that are parts of a whole, who need to be reminded of their innate frequency.
My struggles taught me how to master my own blueprint, and now my life’s work is giving others the stage, the music, and the space to reclaim theirs.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At my core, I am a Brand Architect and a Community Conductor. Through my parent company, GomeZmerize LLC, I help build the digital and relational structures that allow individuals and businesses to step into their truest authority.

For years, my primary vehicle has been Digi-Haze Digital Services & Agency. I specialize in working with local, tech-challenged small businesses to unearth their personalized-professional brand identity and build an undeniable online presence. My signature slogan for Digi-Haze has always been to help these incredible business owners ‘Be Seen in “The Cloud”!’
I strip away the technical overwhelm and build clean, intentional digital architecture so their genius can be recognized with clarity to their community and the world.
But recently, my mission has deeply evolved. While I am proud of the digital platforms I build, I’ve realized that a website is only the beginning. Right now, I am actively expanding that vision into a broader movement with a mission to get our entire community ‘Off The Screen & On The Scene.’ This next chapter goes far beyond the business world; it is an open-table collaboration where I am partnering with local non-profits, artists, and musicians to bring a broad-spectrum audience together around real-world connection, art, and authentic community. I’m currently setting up the digital framework within the 2gthr GomeZmerize online community to anchor these physical collaborations, then to launch a series of live, local, intergenerational events under the core brand, “Legacies Created.”

This upcoming movement will blend the precision of Pythagorean Numerology with the emotional frequency of live music to intentionally bridge cultural and generational gaps – bringing our youth and our elders together in real life.

What I am most proud of is my commitment to authentic servitude. I don’t believe in superficial transactions or cold digital funnels. I build my business on personalized engagement strategies and deeply earned trust.
What sets me apart from others is that I do not separate logic from magic, or data from soul. Because of my background in data administration, I can build an impeccable digital infrastructure in ‘The Cloud.’ But because of my heart for people and music, I know how to bring those digital connections down to earth.

I don’t just build websites, and I don’t just plan events – I am architecting a sovereign ecosystem built on real relationships and timeless legacies.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Most people see me today as a digital brand architect, a numerologist, or a creative conductor, so they’d probably be completely shocked to learn about my background in law enforcement. For almost six years, I served the Craven County Sheriff’s Department under Sheriff Jerry Monette as a Detentions Office Corporal and Jailer.
But the real twist isn’t just that I wore the uniform—it’s that I have lived on both sides of those steel bars.

Long before I ever put on the badge, I found myself on the wrong side of the law, being incarcerated twice during my younger years. Later, I found my footing, and rose through the ranks to command a jail floor as a corporal, managing high-stress, high-stakes environments with strict structural discipline.
Yet, years after leaving the department, during a season where my life’s fire turned inward and chaotic, I found myself on the other side of the bars once again.

Living this 360-degree experience with the justice system stripped away any ounce of judgment I could ever have toward another human being. I don’t look at people through the lens of a superficial resume, and I certainly don’t look at them through a clinical label or a booking number.
I know firsthand what it feels like to be trapped in the system, what it takes to enforce order within it, and how easily a soul can slip back into darkness when they lose sight of their purpose.
This is a main driving force of why Legacies Created exists. My life has been a living masterclass in finding the divine spark in the unlikeliest places.

Today, whether I am helping a local small business break through technical barriers to ‘Be Seen in “The Cloud,”‘ or building the framework to get our local youth, elders, and creatives ‘Off The Screen & On The Scene,’ I am operating from a depth of earned trust and authentic servitude that you simply cannot buy. I went from navigating physical lockdowns on both sides of the glass to dedicating my life to helping people unlock their true personal freedom and lasting legacy.
