Today we’d like to introduce you to Haley Slade.
Hi Haley, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been obsessed with psychology and writing, but I never wanted to be an entrepreneur. In fact, my mother, father, and sister are all entrepreneurs who own their own businesses, and I distinctly remember saying, “yuck, I never wanna do that!” Back in 2021, I found out I was pregnant, and I knew that I always wanted to work from home so I could raise my baby. So, upon finding that out, I set out to find how to earn an income while being the best mom I could be. I started out as an online assistant, and in that job, I discovered copywriting and fell in love. I was so good at it, and I loved that I could still help people using my degree in Psychology. I ended up having an ectopic pregnancy and losing my baby, but that gave me the fire to build something strong and work harder than ever to provide for my next. So I started my own copywriting business. Since then, I’ve grown a team, have business partners, and I’ve helped hundreds of businesses (even working with brands like The Real Housewives and writing for White House staff.) I am so grateful that the hard moments brought me something so beautiful and fulfilling.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
You know, for the most part, it has. God has provided me with consistent business and income from the start. But there have definitely been bumps. I hate the term “imposter syndrome,” but it’s a thing for a reason. It is REAL. I’ve battled that since day one and constantly have to work to remind myself that God made this path for me and that I am doing something I’m meant to be doing. Recently, AI has become a struggle, as many are turning to it rather than hiring copywriters. But, on the flip side, more and more people are having us fix their AI slop because they’ve realized it can’t do what a copywriter can. So learning to ride the ebbs and flows in business is essential to surviving. It isn’t for the faint of heart!

I own a digital copywriting agency called Slade Copy House. We specialize in psychology-based conversion copywriting. Which is a fancy way of saying, we understand the human brain and how it works, so we can write words that sell your service or product. We are steeped in psychology and everything we do has a psychological reason behind it, so that sets us apart from many other brands. We are also huge proponents of PERSONALITY! Hmmm. I love this question! On a business note, they may be surprised to learn that I pray over every project and do CIA-level stalker research to ensure I know your brand inside and out LOL! On a personal note, I love to eat jalapenos on every possible food ever. Spice is life!
