Check Out Darryl Husband’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darryl Husband.

Hi Darryl, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was a traditional Church pastor who believed he was called by God into ministry. When entered, I left the world (and it’s hangups) behind. That lasted for a while but upon meeting some older pastors who had a different perspective on living out their faith, I began a journey that would find me acquiescing and falling back into an old lifestyle. It would be years and after several shameful failures, including failing as a father and later at a marriage, before I would come to myself as I laid before the altar of my church, crying out to God for a change. As I prayed, I could hear Him saying to me give up drinking and go home at night. Go to bed! My question of course, was why should I do that? The response was, so I could go to sleep. I did it and began to get up early. It was then where I began a journey of prayer and writing. My first book was gifted to me because of obedience in and to prayer. That book was called, “The Altared Life”. It became the first of now 14 books, a life of consecration, and the honor of being the leader over prayer in an international organization.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was not a smooth road. As I began the journey, the greatest challenge was losing long time friendships who thought I was dying because of the drastic lifestyle changes I had made.
Divorce was an embarrassment to say the least, but more than that, a loss of respect, a poor example to the people I was called to lead and a stench in the nostrils of God. It was a season of great humiliation that led to humility and a desire to teach others the right roads to follow.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Pastor, writer, songwriter, Teacher, leadership lecturer, Prayer leader, high school baseball coach and trainer, national faith leaders health organization-studying disease and it’s affects on people (especially minorities)

I have also worked to lead a group of cross cultural pastors in our city in the area of racial conciliation for many years

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
