Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Gochenour.
Hi Robert, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
We started Tempo Plumbing in 2015 after the lose of my grandfather. I knew we had to build on his legacy of helping home owners with plumbing need in the Valley. We took on new construction customers at first but we soon left that side of the business and focused on residential service and water treatment.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We have struggled to hire and train employees. We have also struggled to maintain steady work. We are overwhelmed at times and other times the call volume is very light.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We specialize in home service plumbing. New installs, repairs, toilets, faucets, pressure tanks, water heaters, well pumps, repipes, etc.
Water treatment may be becoming our main side of our business. We clean water. Water in the valley is hard, acidic, iron heavy and sometimes smelly. We clean this up.
We are super proud of our installs. We install pipe very neat and professionally. We also add on things like vacuum relief valve, drain valve, surge protection etc.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
We are training guys to be leaders in home service plumbing. We want them to enjoy high end installs. We also want them to know exactly what they are talking about in detail. We want them to be technicians.
We are also training these guys in soft skills that will help them in serving customers. This is a larger expense that requires off site trips that are usually 3 days or more.
Pricing:
- Our pricing is not the lowest. That is by design. Not because we’re smarter but because we care more. We are not here to be transactional. We are here to build relationships with customers, vendors, and employees. This takes more time and effort.
- We are not here to cut corners. We are here to offer best practice options to resolve issues.
