Daily Inspiration: Meet Sadie Woodhouse

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sadie Woodhouse.

Hi Sadie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I began working in the wedding industry in 2023 at a bridal salon! I fell in love with the glamorous fashion and the process of putting so much time and effort into a day that really feels like you. Eventually, I began working as an assistant for a local wedding planner and fell in love with capturing all of the details and behind the scenes moments of the day. I have always had a passion for content creation as a way to make memories, but I had no idea that I could turn that into a career by doing that for other people! In 2024, I started my business and it immediately took off! People loved waking up in the morning after their wedding day to their full galleries and edited videos. Since I started wedding content creation a year and half ago, I have had the opportunity to capture over 2 dozen weddings and event, with just as many booked for the next year. Every wedding my work gets better than the last, as I have really dedicated my time to improving and expanding my business. I love what I do, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. It feels like I found my dream job that I didn’t even know existed.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Adjusting the any new job can be hard, but especially one that is such a new vendor category. I have many vendor friends and mentors, but I started my business just as wedding content creation was born, so I didn’t have many people to turn to for tips and tricks or advice. Because wedding content creation is so new, the hardest thing for me was convincing people that I was not just there to give them content for social media. Of course, I put together post-worthy edited videos, but I am also giving them a vault of raw and candid photos and videos to relive their day forever. As the industry grows, more people (vendors and couples) have began to take content creation as a serious vendor category and watching that shift has been very rewarding. I do my best now to be a mentor for newer creators looking to break into the industry, because I did not have that!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I like to say that I focus on the “aesthetic” details of your day but also the moments you might miss! I love sneaking videos of grandparents on the dance floor or the groom shedding a few tears at the end of the aisle. The longer I do this job, the better I get at picking up on those candid moments.

I also pride myself on my ability to capture and edit the details that you have spent time and money on. Often times, the smaller details can get lost in content creation, but I have learned how to capture everything down to the menu cards on the tables, while still producing great quality. I have been using my iPhone camera for my whole life, so I didn’t expect to feel like my skills would improve so much, so quickly, but I really feel like I have a gift now for getting every last bit in a way that not everyone is able to.

What’s next?
My plans for the future include adding more travel into my calendar! I have been taking inquiries from all over the United States and beyond! I love seeing more of the country, and what better way to do it than seeing beautiful venues and attending gorgeously curated weddings and events? There are many cities and venues that I hope to work in in the coming year, as I expand my network of vendors and clients. I am also offering complimentary Welcome Party or Rehaersal Dinner coverage for couples as I expand.
