Hi April, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
This is my fifth year in business, I used to work with family where I reached my limit on growth, so I decided to open my own business. I got into the Pack and Ship Business Center field based on my personality and off the strength that a store like mine (Post Office) was needed in my area. I’m coinvent, personable, and offer tons on services.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth for the most part, but I have struggled with giving myself off days. I work in the store 6 days a week by myself so if I’m sick, need to run errands for my kids, or what to take a vacation, it’s hard to tell my mailbox customers. ” You won’t be able to access your mail these days”.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
FeMAIL is the name of my store. So its women owned, and I mainly mail out evenlopes and packages. Im partnered with USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL, and LBC. I also have mailbox like P.O. Box, people can rent from. I do fingerprint background checks, take passport photos, fax, print, compuer rental. My store is a one stop shop.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I stick to the knowledge from people that are in my same field. All my mentors are out of state which I like since I don’t have time for long meetings anyway. A quick 2-5 minute phone call gets the job done because its straight to the point.
