Our story begins with the encounter of two stranded immigrants who find themselves along the way by merging traditional techniques with modern cuisine. Through opportunities given to him by wonderful people, he worked for over 24 years in different European and American restaurants building up the dream to create their own restaurant someday.

By 2013, with a baby girl on board, the Yanez family decided to follow their dreams by spending their life savings on a food truck.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Los Chamacos Mexican Restaurant, we specialize in bringing the authentic, vibrant flavors of Mexican cuisine to our community, proudly earning our reputation as the “Casa de la Birria.” We are widely known for our famous Birria pizza, traditional homemade tamales, and a menu that honors deep-rooted family recipes. Every single day, our salsas are crafted from scratch using the freshest ingredients to capture that true homemade taste. The same care goes into our traditional mole—a rich, perfectly balanced blend of sweet and spicy flavors that we slow-cook for up to three hours.

What we are most proud of is our resilience and our dedication to the community. Even after enduring over two years of challenging street construction right outside our doors, our passion never wavered. We persevered by God’s grace, keeping our doors open to serve our neighbors and continuing to support local students by providing them with meaningful part-time employment.

What truly sets us apart is this unbreakable bond with our customers. At Los Chamacos, people don’t just come for a meal; they become part of our family. We combine authentic flavor, hard work, and a welcoming heart to create a place where the community always feels at home.

Any big plans?
Right now, our main focus is on overcoming these current obstacles and continuing to create meaningful job opportunities for our community. Having survived both a global pandemic and two intense years of street construction, we know we are resilient. We truly believe that if we could get through all of that, the future for Los Chamacos is incredibly bright. We are excited to keep growing, serving our neighbors, and building a strong tomorrow.
