Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Brown.
Hi Jordan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been in business since before I knew what the word meant. I was raised by business owners, multiple businesses, different industries, so commerce wasn’t something I studied, it was something I
lived. By the time I was 14, I was learning the mechanics of selling, and over the last 10 years I’ve sold across automotive, telecommunications, and several of my own ventures. I’ve sat across from
thousands of people and learned one consistent truth: the thing that separates people who build something from people who stay stuck is almost never strategy. It’s how they see themselves.
I started D’etre Above in December of 2020, right after I turned 19. The name means “to be above” and that wasn’t a slogan, it was a conviction. I had spent years watching business owners up close,
not just what they did but how they thought, how they made decisions, what invisible things held them back and what invisible things pushed them forward. I realized I had a natural ability to see
those things in people and help them shift. I’ve always been someone people talk to, and not in a casual way. I’ve had conversations where people have broken down in tears because
something I said unlocked a perspective they had been missing for years. That kept happening. Not once or twice, but consistently, across strangers, colleagues, friends, business owners at every
level. At some point I stopped seeing it as coincidence and started recognizing it as a calling.
I niched into the medical spa industry because I saw a space full of talented practitioners who were excellent at their craft but underserved when it came to the business side, marketing, patient
retention, automation, and especially the after-hours experience that most practices completely ignore. But the broader vision of D’etre Above has always been bigger than one industry. The name itself tells you what we stand for. “To be above” is not about being better than anyone else. It’s about
being above where you were yesterday. It’s about elevation. Whether you’re a med spa owner who can’t figure out why patients aren’t coming back, a first-time entrepreneur who has the drive but can’t
see the path, or someone in a career who knows they were made for more but doesn’t know what the “more” looks like, D’etre Above exists to close that gap. I consult businesses, but what I really do
is help people see clearly. When someone sees clearly, every decision they make from that point forward is different. The business changes because the person changed. That’s the work.
I’ve given this away for free more times than I can count because what I carry costs me nothing to share. The insight, the perspective, the ability to sit with someone and help them untangle what’s
been holding them back, that’s not something I manufacture. It’s something I’ve cultivated through years of experience, observation, and genuine care for the people I talk to. The fact that I can
now build a business around it is just the natural result of becoming who I was always supposed to be.
At 24, I’ve spent more time building, failing, learning, and rebuilding than most people twice my age. And I wouldn’t trade a single piece of it because every experience sharpened something. I’m not
here because everything went right. I’m here because I kept going when it didn’t, and somewhere along the way I stopped chasing what I wanted and started becoming the person who already had it.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been smooth at all, and I wouldn’t want it to be. A smooth road doesn’t build the kind of person who can sit across from someone and help them navigate what they’re going through. You have
to have been through something to see through something.
I’ve faced the kind of struggle that most Americans know but few talk about openly. I’ve had personal property destroyed by circumstances completely outside of my control. I woke up one morning to
find my car set on fire by a stranger, and there was no recourse, no restitution, just a situation I had to absorb and move forward from. I’ve built both personal and business credit, leveraged it
in various ways both right and wrong, watched it crumble, and rebuilt it again with the lessons that only come from having done it wrong first. I’ve been without employment and had to figure out how
to create my own income when nothing was guaranteed. I’ve moved backward in ways that felt permanent at the time. None of it was.
But if I’m being honest, the external obstacles were never the real problem. The real obstacle was me. For years I was doing everything I thought I was supposed to do. Building systems, studying
strategy, learning from every source I could find, working harder than anyone around me. And none of it was producing the results I knew I was capable of. That was the most frustrating season of my
life because I couldn’t point to laziness or ignorance as the issue. The effort was real. The output wasn’t matching.
What I eventually realized is that I was building from the outside in. I was trying to construct a result before I had become the person who could carry it. I was chasing outcomes instead of
embodying them. The moment that shifted internally, everything around me started to respond differently. Opportunities that I had been grinding toward started coming to me. Conversations changed.
The way people received me changed. Not because I learned a new tactic, but because I stopped operating from a place of what I thought I lacked and started operating from what I knew I had with
clarity.
That’s the lesson I carry into every conversation I have with a client or anyone who asks for my perspective. The biggest obstacle in your business or your life is almost never what you think it is.
It’s usually something you can’t see because you’re standing too close to it. And once someone helps you step back and look at it clearly, the obstacle loses its power. That’s what struggle taught
me. Not to avoid difficulty, but to use it as the very thing that sharpens the vision.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about D’etre Above Consulting Firm?
We specialize in the medical spa industry, working with practice owners who are excellent at their craft but underserved on the business side, marketing, patient retention, automation, after-hours
responsiveness, and the operational blind spots that silently cost practices thousands every month. But our insight is not limited to one industry. The principles that drive real growth apply
everywhere. If you’re building something and you know it should be further along than it is, we can work with you.
At its core, D’etre Above is a bridge. It connects the businesses and individuals we consult into a network where knowledge, opportunity, and resources flow between them. We’re not just improving
one business in isolation. We’re building an ecosystem. In times like these, where everyone wants more but most people don’t know how to reach it, that kind of infrastructure is essential.
What sets us apart is that we don’t give you a dependency. We give you a lens. Our job is to help you see your business and yourself with a clarity that makes the next move obvious. Once you can see
it, you don’t need anyone to hold your hand. You move because the path is clear. That’s the difference between consulting that creates reliance and consulting that creates owners.
That process is supported by advanced technology. We’ve built custom AI systems, automated research pipelines, content engines, and operational tools that allow us to move with speed and depth. The
technology amplifies what we already bring, the ability to understand people, identify what’s not working, and design what should exist in its place.
What I’m most proud of is what this brand represents. D’etre Above is an umbrella for something much larger. Every business we consult, every individual we work with, becomes part of something
bigger than their own operation. I built this brand to be the kind of resource I wish existed when I was figuring things out on my own. The keys are there. Most people just need someone to point
them to the door. We offer full practice audits, automation buildouts, marketing strategy, reputation management, and ongoing growth consulting. While our primary focus is the medical spa industry, our consulting
services extend to businesses across other industries looking to elevate their operations and reach the next level.
How do you think about happiness?
Happiness for me is a choice, and I say that from experience, not theory. I’ve learned how to create it from the inside rather than waiting for something on the outside to deliver it. What makes me
happy is my perspective. The way I see the world directly shapes what I experience in it, and I’ve deliberately built a perspective that finds value in everything, the wins and the hardship alike.
Even when something happens that most people would consider negative, I find satisfaction in knowing that it leads somewhere. There’s a quote from Khalil Gibran that I carry with me: “Even as the
stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.” You are the fruit and your pain will break you apart so that the pit inside of you can stand in the light and
grow you from the fruit into the great tree you were always supposed to be. That’s not a dark outlook. That’s the deepest form of optimism there is. Nothing is wasted.
Beyond that, I’m a simple man. I’m an artist trained in drawing and painting. I love to read. And I genuinely love physical activity and fitness. The things that bring me the most peace don’t cost
anything. A good book, good food, great company and conversation, a workout, time to create something with my hands, the clarity that comes after all of it. I’ve found that the less you need to be happy, the more happiness finds you.
