Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Cerda.
Hi Jason, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Jason Cerda is a Northern Virginia native whose journey in music and entertainment spans more than two decades. A recording artist, performer, and creative visionary, Jason’s story has always been rooted in a passion for the arts—and in the community that raised him.
He began dancing at just five years old, but it wasn’t until he was 18 that he stepped into a dance studio for formal, professional training. Ironically, the very studio where Jason first began developing his craft is now home to Cerdafied Studios.
While music has taken Jason’s career in many directions, opening a dance and creative studio in Northern Virginia was always one of his biggest dreams. He envisioned a space where dancers and artists could receive elite-level training without feeling they had to leave the DMV for cities like Los Angeles, Miami, or New York.
Through Cerdafied Studios, Jason’s mission is to shine a brighter light on the incredible talent that already exists in the DMV, while building a true sense of community among the artists who call it home. What began as a young artist’s dream has come full circle—creating a space designed to inspire, develop, and elevate the next generation of talent right where it all started.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Building Cerdafied Studios and bringing that vision to life has not come without its challenges. From the beginning, Jason, his co-founder Rahna, and their team set out to change the way dancers in the DMV approached training. Introducing a different business and training model meant asking dancers to step outside of what they were used to and trust in a new vision.
As the studio continued to grow, so did the challenge of differentiating Cerdafied in an increasingly competitive industry. The team worked hard to build original ideas and experiences, only to sometimes see those ideas replicated by other studios.
At the same time, Jason has had to balance two demanding worlds: his career in music and entertainment and the responsibility of running a full-time, booming business. Managing performances, recording, creative projects, and the day-to-day demands of the studio has required constant sacrifice, flexibility, and commitment.
Then came a challenge no one could have anticipated. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Cerdafied Studios was forced to close its doors for 90 days. When the studio was finally able to reopen, it faced limited enrollment and an entirely new way of operating. It was a period filled with uncertainty, but it also became a testament to the resilience of the business and the community they had worked so hard to create.
Despite every challenge, the mission has remained the same: to create opportunities, elevate DMV talent, and prove that world-class artists can be developed right here at home.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Cerdafied Studios is a creative home for dancers and artists in the DMV, built on the belief that world-class training and opportunities should be accessible right in the DMV area. We specialize in providing high-level, professional dance training across a variety of styles while creating an environment that supports both artistic growth and genuine community.
What we are most known for is our commitment to raising the standard of training in the DMV. Our model was created to give dancers access to elite instructors, industry-level experiences, and professional development in a space that feels welcoming, challenging, and inspiring. We are proud to have helped change the way dancers in our community approach training and to continue creating opportunities that allow local talent to be seen, developed, and elevated.
What sets Cerdafied Studios apart is the combination of our industry experience and our commitment to the community. Our roots in the music and entertainment world allow us to bring a unique perspective to training and create experiences that connect dancers to the professional industry beyond the studio. At the same time, we have never lost sight of why Cerdafied was created: to build a home for DMV artists.

We have created more than just a place to take class—we have built a space where dancers can challenge themselves, support one another, discover new opportunities, and believe that their dreams can be pursued right here at home.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of Jason’s favorite childhood memories was winning his high school talent show. It was a moment that he says gave him a new level of confidence in himself and his abilities. More than just winning, it was the experience of being on stage, sharing his talent, and realizing that people believed in what he had to offer. That moment helped spark the confidence he needed to truly start believing that he could chase his dreams and turn his passion into something bigger.
