Hi Diana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the beauty business is really a continuation of a passion I have had for art my entire life.
Before becoming a makeup artist, I spent 21 years working as an art teacher in Kuwait. Art has always been a huge part of who I am. I loved creating, designing, painting, and bringing ideas to life — from teaching art to creating designs on walls and working on different creative projects. I always saw beauty and creativity everywhere around me.
At the same time, I had a strong passion for makeup that I carried with me for many years. In 2022, I decided to take that passion seriously and started taking professional makeup courses to develop my skills and learn more about the industry.
Then, in 2023, my life took a completely new direction when I moved to the United States. I left behind the career and life I had built in Kuwait and started over in a new country.
Building my makeup business from the beginning was not easy. I had to learn how to establish myself, meet new people, build relationships, and create opportunities for myself. I started by building my portfolio, working with different clients, practicing constantly, improving my techniques, and networking within my community.
Over the past three years, I have worked hard to turn my passion into a real business. Every client, every makeup look, and every new connection has helped me grow not only as a makeup artist, but also as a business owner.
I believe my background as an artist and an art teacher gives me a unique perspective. Makeup is another form of art to me. Every face is a different canvas, and I love creating a look that enhances someone’s natural beauty while making them feel confident and beautiful.
Starting over in a new country taught me that it is never too late to follow your passion and reinvent yourself. I am proud of the journey I have taken so far, and I am excited about where this journey will take me next.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, the road was definitely not smooth or easy. Moving to a new country and starting over professionally came with many challenges.
I had spent 21 years as an art teacher in Kuwait, so when I moved to the United States, I had to start building my professional life all over again. I was entering a new market, meeting new people, and trying to establish myself in an industry where I didn’t yet have a strong local network.
One of my biggest challenges was getting people to know me and trust my work. I had to build my portfolio almost from scratch, find clients, create opportunities for myself, and constantly network within my community. In the beginning, there were many times when I had to put myself out there without knowing what the result would be.
Another challenge was learning how the beauty business works here. It’s not only about being a good makeup artist. I had to learn how to market myself, promote my work, use social media effectively, understand pricing, communicate with clients, and build a brand that represents who I am.
There were also moments of doubt and frustration, especially when I would put so much time and effort into something and not immediately see the results I hoped for. But I kept reminding myself that building something meaningful takes time.
What helped me continue was my passion for art and makeup and the belief that I could create something of my own. I treated every client as an opportunity to learn, every makeup look as a chance to improve my portfolio, and every connection as a step toward building my network.
The challenges actually made me stronger and more confident. They taught me patience, consistency, and resilience. Looking back, I realize that starting over was difficult, but it also gave me the opportunity to discover a new side of myself and turn a lifelong passion into a business.
I wouldn’t say the journey has been easy, but I can honestly say that every challenge has been part of what made me the makeup artist and business owner I am today.

What makes me different is that I see makeup as an art form. With 21 years of experience as an art teacher, I bring a strong artistic eye for color, balance, dimension, and detail into every makeup look I create.
I specialize in bridal makeup, soft glam, full glam, and special-event makeup, with a focus on creating elegant, feminine, polished, and long-lasting looks. I’m especially proud of my ability to customize every look to the client’s features, skin tone, personality, and personal style rather than creating the same look for everyone.
I’m also proud of the journey I’ve taken to build my business from the ground up after moving to the United States. Today, I want to be known not only for beautiful makeup, but for making every client feel confident, beautiful, and truly herself.
What’s next?
One of my biggest goals for the future is to start offering in-person makeup courses and share my knowledge and experience with aspiring makeup artists.
Teaching has always been a big part of who I am, since I spent 21 years as an art teacher. Now I want to combine my passion for teaching, art, and makeup by helping others develop their skills and confidence.
I see this as a major new chapter for my business — not only growing as a makeup artist, but also becoming a mentor and educator in the beauty industry.
