Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Bohn.
Hi Sarah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
After years as a stay-at-home mom, I started a business in my basement with a single hand press and a simple idea: create custom products while giving my clients the kind of personal service that can be hard to find.
What began as French Press Printing in 2014, serving primarily friends and family in Virginia, grew organically through relationships, referrals, and a lot of hard work. Over the years, I watched the business evolve from a small apparel-printing operation into something much broader. Today, we help businesses, schools, universities, nonprofits, teams, municipalities, and organizations across the country promote their brands through custom apparel and promotional products.
By 2026, our business had grown to serve clients across all four corners of the country. But there was one challenge: we could not trademark the French Press Printing name. After more than a decade of building our reputation around that name, we made the decision to embrace a new chapter—and FLORIMPRESS™ was born.
FLORIMPRESS™ reflects our growth, creativity, and passion for making an impression. It feels like the perfect representation of how far we’ve come—and where we’re going next.
The name may be new, but our philosophy hasn’t changed: know the client, listen carefully, find creative solutions, and treat every client as if they are the only client.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There have been plenty of challenges along the way, but I think the biggest lesson has been learning that you can’t control everything that happens to your business—you can only control how you respond.
The rebrand in 2026 was certainly one of those moments. After more than ten years of building recognition around French Press Printing, changing our name in order to grow, felt, at first, like saying goodbye to something I had worked so hard to create.
But I decided to look at it differently. Instead of asking, “How do I start over?” I asked, “How can I best position the company for the future?”
That mindset changed everything.
Rather than letting the rebrand slow us down, we seized it! I invested in professional coaching, expanded my team, and was much more intentional about where I wanted the company to go next. We embraced the opportunity to rethink our brand, sharpen our vision, and build the infrastructure to support the next stage of the business.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
What I love most about FLORIMPRESS™ is helping our clients build their brands in creative and effective ways.
We work with organizations with very different needs—from a municipality ordering uniforms, to a nonprofit preparing for a major event, a university outfitting a team, or a business looking for a way to make a lasting impression on clients.
Our job is to listen first. Sometimes a client comes to us knowing exactly what they want. Other times, they simply say, “We need something great for this event—what do you recommend?”
That’s where we really enjoy what we do.
Over the years, we’ve developed relationships with trusted suppliers around the world, giving us access to everything from apparel and embroidery to promotional products and unique branded items. But the product is only part of the equation.
We help organizations grow their brands by giving them one trusted point of contact.
Instead of having to navigate countless suppliers, products, decorators, and manufacturers on their own, our clients can come to us. We listen to what they’re trying to accomplish, find the right solution, and manage the process from start to finish.
There is something incredibly satisfying about seeing a product we helped create out in the community—a shirt someone is wearing, a water bottle on someone’s desk, or a bag at an event. Those products become physical reminders of an organization and what it represents.
Ultimately, we’re not just in the business of selling branded products. We’re in the business of helping our clients grow their brands and make an impression.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest piece of advice is: don’t wait until you have everything figured out.
When I started, I certainly didn’t have a perfect business plan or know where the business would eventually take me. I had a hand press, a willingness to work hard, and a belief that if I took good care of my clients, they would come back.
They did.
Build relationships. Show up. Follow up. Do what you say you’re going to do. And when you make a mistake—which you will—own it and fix it.
I would also tell anyone starting a business to be willing to evolve. The business you start may not be the business you have five or ten years from now. That’s okay. Pay attention to what your clients need, recognize opportunities, and don’t be afraid to reinvent yourself.
And perhaps most importantly, don’t underestimate the value of being a small business.
You don’t have to be the biggest company in the room to make a big impression. You just have to care more, listen better, and build genuine relationships.
That’s what has carried me from a single hand press in 2014 to FLORIMPRESS™ today—and I’m excited to see where it takes us next.
