Today we’d like to introduce you to Marylee Marmer.
Hi Marylee, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The Brickhouse RVA is the brainchild of Marylee Marmer. Veteran in the wedding industry, In early 2022, while searching for a home base, 406 West Broad Street popped up on their radar. After touring the space, it became indisputable that the location was the perfect place to host private events. With a few months of renovation, tlc and a lot of love, The Brickhouse RVA was born!
In addition to The Brickhouse RVA, Marylee Marmer also owns and operates Marylee Marmer Events which has been in business since 2015. With over 20 years in the business, Marylee has planned over 1,000 events and weddings. Her weddings have been featured on prestigious wedding blogs such as Honeysuckle Brides, Borrowed and Blue, Wedding Sparrow, Zola, Novela, The Lovely Find, Pretty Pear Bride, Rent My Wedding, Tidewater and Tulle, Richmond Weddings and many others. Weddings have also been featured in magazines including BRIDE, Rent My Wedding, Virginia Living Magazine, Richmond Bride and Richmond Weddings. Marylee Marmer Events has won the The Knot Hall of Fame, The Best of Weddings by The Knot, Couple’s Choice Award by WeddingWire, and multiple Nacey Awards. Marylee is also the owner of the venue in downtown Richmond, The Brickhouse RVA and the founder of wedding website DIY I do.
She truly cares about each client and does everything to create the vision on their special day. She has done over 1,000 events and weddings over the years and happily keeps in contact with her past couples. She loves spending time with her family and loved ones, enjoying restaurants around Richmond, tasting wine, and helping the homeless in the community.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are always struggles along the way. With any business there are struggles. Nothing specifically stands out.
