Hi Kevin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my art journey when I was 8 years old. I started by drawing my favorite cartoon/anime characters as a kid from Avatar, Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Teen Titans & more.
Once I graduated high school I went to college at the Art Institute in Virginia Beach which gave me the opportunity to learn more about my craft. I initially went because I had an interest in creating my own animated series but I was able to walk away with more information than I was originally looking for. While meeting new artists & learning new art styles was life changing, I didn’t end up finishing so in 2018 I decided to leave school and pursue something of my own.
My Motivational Streetwear Brand named Cappin’ Out was established in 2018. Cappin’ Out was built to motivate hustlers & creators by giving you a positive message to carry throughout your day and give you a daily reminder of who you are and what you can do. So follow your dreams and Don’t Stop Yourself.
Since then I’ve been building my following on & offline to bring together a community of likeminded people. I promote my brand at Flea Markets, on social media and through my own website. So not only do I push my own brand, I offer custom clothing for artists, businesses, brands and personal projects to help others bring their ideas to life. Seeing the growth has been amazing watching my brand start from a bedroom in Virginia and touch people across the world.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been challenging but it’s been worth it. Dealing with family, friends, death, less personal time, the struggles of business, creative block and learning how to live in the new life that you’re building for yourself can cause mental obstacles along the way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a Music Artist as well. I go by the name “Capp”. I began making music in 2015 with my friends Apex Hippy, NeverHarvey & KahRome. We’ve all collaborated & been supportive of each other along the way. Music is something that I’ve fallen in love with over the years and I want to push myself to see how great I can be. From songs to projects to videos to live performances, the goal is to always improve & inspire! I want to make music that is relatable to the everyday hustler and also just let people know they’re not alone. I have my fun songs and sad songs too but the message in the music and the message from the clothing go hand & hand. I do have a few projects out that can be found on all streaming platforms

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I like that we’re a big college & military area so we have a lot of travelers from others states & countries. It gives a chance to learn how people may do things from other places I’ve never been to.
I don’t like how disconnected we are as a creative community. I feel like the Virginia, specifically the 757 area has a lot of talent that is undiscovered and if we could figure out a way to put a proper spotlight on what he have here I know it’ll change the world.
