Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Tierney.
Hi Stephanie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always loved flowers, after high school I went to a local flower shop and asked if they were hiring. That was in 1993, I purchased the shop in 2013. I have been blessed with a very busy business and a great town with so much support.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I like to think so, when you love what you do it really helps. Just like any small business it can be hard to compete with large businesses but you find a way. You deal with a lot of emotions in this business, you can be working on funerals one day and weddings the next. I have had many great employees along the way that have helped me get through.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are lucky to do everything floral related. We deliver flowers for every occasion– new babies, birthdays, anniversaries, funerals, weddings etc. We also sell plants and some gift items.
I love that we are able to donate items for non-profits, fire halls, and other community organizations.
How do you think about luck?
I guess luck always a little part to do with it, but it has taken a lot of hard work, time, and dedication to get to where we are today.
