Exploring Life & Business with Brendan Kennedy of ArtsToAll

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brendan Kennedy.

Brendan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in Richmond, went to Shenandoah Conservatory for Musical Theatre, then moved to NYC. After learning a ton an getting to work in every side and size of theater, my wife and I moved back to Richmond in 2011 where I started working more in theatre-arts education. ArtsToAll was a Covid baby. Through multiplue parnterships, ArtsToll provides in-school and after-school programming to schools and community centers around the Richmond area through-out the school year with a growing number of theatre camps and productions in the summer.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Durring the school year, I’m mainly a one-man band with a couple of key teaching artists assisting along the way. Managing the day-to-day logistics of everything outside of the classroom always keep me on my toes.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
With the mantra of Inspiring the spirit of play in the everyday ArtstoAll does everything through the lens of Play.

What does success mean to you?
Success is creating an environment in which all students feel seen, heard, and valued.
