Inspiring Conversations with Tory Varricchione of Vie Wellness Club

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tory Varricchione.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I graduated from Liberty University in 2023 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a focus in business, psychology, and science. After graduating, I began working in genetic counseling while also building my first business online. That experience showed me how much I loved entrepreneurship, but I knew I eventually wanted to create something tangible in my own community.

I danced ballet for 12 years, so movement has always been a meaningful part of my life. After graduating, I struggled to find a Pilates and wellness space in Lynchburg that truly felt like me. I wanted something elevated and beautiful, but also warm, social, and approachable. When I realized that space did not exist yet, I decided to create it.

VIE Wellness Club opened in the spring of 2025 with six reformers and a vision that extended far beyond Pilates classes. From the very beginning, community and collaboration were central to what I wanted to build. Even during our soft launch, we partnered with 12 local businesses to introduce VIE to Lynchburg. Connecting with other women business owners and local vendors quickly became one of my favorite parts of owning the studio.

Since then, we have continued to grow our reformer community and expanded VIE to include mat Pilates, allowing us to welcome even more women into the studio. We have also created signature experiences like Wellness with a View, which brings together more than 100 attendees and over 20 local vendors for an evening of movement, wellness, and connection overlooking downtown Lynchburg.

I think what makes VIE so special is that it has never been just a Pilates studio. It is a place where people gather, friendships form, local businesses are celebrated, and women feel like they are part of something. The classes may be what first bring someone through our doors, but the community is what makes VIE feel like home.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a completely smooth road, but I think the challenges have shaped VIE into what it is today. As a young entrepreneur, there were so many things I had to learn in real time. During our first year and a half, nearly every part of the business evolved, from our services and studio layout to our clientele and the way we communicate our brand.

One of our greatest challenges has been introducing something new to Lynchburg. When people have not experienced a concept like VIE before, they may not immediately understand it or may form an impression of who we are before ever walking through our doors. We have had to be intentional about communicating our mission and showing people that while VIE is elevated and thoughtfully designed, it is also welcoming, approachable, and built for real women at every stage of their wellness journey.

That preconceived notion can be difficult to overcome, but it is also one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. Once someone comes into the studio, meets our team, takes a class, and experiences the community for herself, she often falls in love with it. We love getting to welcome those women into VIE and show them that there is a place for them here.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Vie Wellness Club?
VIE Wellness Club is a reformer and mat Pilates studio in Lynchburg, Virginia. We specialize in 50-minute classes that are challenging, intentional, and approachable for a wide range of experience levels. Our reformer classes are kept small with only six clients, allowing our instructors to provide personalized attention, while our mat Pilates classes offer a larger, high-energy group experience. We also offer private sessions for clients looking for more individualized instruction.

What sets VIE apart is the experience we have created around movement. From the design of the studio to the way our instructors welcome each client, every detail is intended to feel elevated without being intimidating. You do not have to fit a certain image, already know Pilates, or be at a particular point in your wellness journey to belong here. We want every woman who walks through our doors to feel comfortable, encouraged, and excited to return.

VIE is also much more than a place to take a class. Community has been part of our identity since day one. We regularly collaborate with local businesses, host special events, and create opportunities for women to connect outside of their usual routines. Our signature Wellness with a View event brings together more than 100 attendees and over 20 local vendors for an evening of movement, shopping, and community overlooking downtown Lynchburg.

Brand-wise, I am most proud that VIE has developed such a distinct identity while still feeling personal. People may first recognize us for our space, events, or Pilates classes, but I hope they come to know us for the way we make them feel. We have worked hard to build a brand that is beautiful and aspirational, but also warm, genuine, and rooted in the Lynchburg community.

Whether someone is joining us for reformer Pilates, trying mat Pilates for the first time, attending an event, or simply looking for a place where she feels welcomed, there is a space for her at VIE. That sense of belonging is ultimately what I want our brand to be known for.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
