Today we’d like to introduce you to Camille Espinoza.
Hi Camille, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I founded the Center for Intimacy and Relationships to help people create true connection in their lives. Our team helps people create authentic intimacy in their relationships, one person at a time and one session at a time. As a couples therapist and certified sex therapist, I see people every day who simply need a place to talk about the difficult issues in their relationships. So I built a business to do exactly that.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest challenge with any business is finding the right people, and then giving them what they need to succeed. That goes for both our therapists and our clients. We go to extraordinary lengths to match clients with the right therapist to help them grow, heal, and reach their goals. We also go the extra mile to find and support the area’s best therapists.
As you know, we’re big fans of Center for Intimacy and Relationships. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are one of the few therapy practices that combines couples therapy with sex therapy. We help couples have the difficult conversations, one session at a time. Furthermore, all of our therapists are trained to treat trauma and incorporate trauma-informed practice into the work. Our team is highly specialized, and dedicated to sex therapy in particular. We proudly support LGBTQIA, CNM and BIPOC communities with affirming mental health care.
Most people don’t know that sex therapy is actually very broad. It encompasses everything from sexual health to feelings about sex, mismatched desire, reproductive health and infertility, sex pain, decisons about opening or closing a relationship, and more. Sex therapy is for anyone who wants to feel better about sex or intimacy. With couples, we help partners talk about the uncomfortable issues so they can co-create intimacy on their own terms.
The Center for Intimacy and Relationships offers inclusive, person-centered teletherapy throughout Virginia, DC and Maryland. We also offer in-person treatment at our Tysons Corner and DC locations.
What were you like growing up?
I’ve always been a listener. Growing up, I was the person everyone confided in about their secrets. I don’t know why; maybe it’s because I’ve always enjoyed hearing about other people’s life stories.
