Meet Antoinette “Toni” Brown of Virginia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antoinette “Toni” Brown.

Hi Antoinette “Toni”, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey as a content creator began with a genuine love for fragrance, beauty, and the confidence they can give a person. Perfume has always been more than something I simply wear—it is a form of self-expression. A scent can reflect your personality, complement your mood, bring back a special memory, or help you feel more confident before walking into a room. Because fragrance meant so much to me personally, I wanted to share that excitement with other people.

I started creating content by talking about the perfumes I loved and sharing my honest opinions and recommendations. In the beginning, I was simply being myself and connecting with people who shared the same passion. As I continued creating, I became more intentional about helping my audience discover fragrances that fit their personalities, lifestyles, and budgets. I wanted my content to feel approachable, relatable, and enjoyable—even for someone who was just beginning to explore the world of perfume. What sets me apart is that I do not only describe how a fragrance smells; I try to communicate how it feels, the mood it creates, and the type of confidence it can bring to the person wearing it.

Building my platform required consistency, patience, and the courage to keep showing up. Like many creators, I had to overcome moments of uncertainty and learn not to compare my journey to anyone else’s. I continued developing my voice, improving the quality of my content, and listening to what my audience wanted. The trust I have built with my community is extremely important to me, so I always strive to be authentic. Whether I love a product or believe it may not work for everyone, I want my audience to know that my opinions are honest.

My passion for beauty eventually inspired me to become an entrepreneur and create Boujee Beauty Collection LLC. I wanted to build a brand that represents luxury, confidence, femininity, and self-care while still feeling accessible to everyday women. Through my business, I have expanded into products such as perfume oils, decants and travel size perfumes, and my very own Herbal Boujee Detox Tea, which aided me in losing over 100 plus pounds naturally.

I created Boujee Beauty Collection LLC for women who enjoy feeling beautiful, feminine, confident, and luxurious. The word “Boujee” represents the experience I want my customers to have. To me, being boujee is not only about expensive things; it is about how you carry yourself, how you care for yourself, and how you feel when you use a product that was chosen with you in mind. I wanted to create a brand that makes everyday self-care feel like a luxury, while still being approachable and relatable to real women.

Fragrance is especially meaningful to my brand because it is also a major part of my personal journey. As a perfume lover and content creator, I understand that choosing a fragrance is a personal experience. A scent can make a woman feel soft, bold, romantic, powerful, or unforgettable. I bring that same understanding into Boujee Beauty Collection LLC by focusing on products that create an experience and an emotion—not simply something to purchase. I want customers to associate the brand with feeling beautiful, confident, and put together.

The visual identity of Boujee Beauty Collection LLC also reflects that purpose. Pink represents femininity, beauty, confidence, and the glamorous energy behind the brand. The elegant, luxurious style communicates that every woman deserves to feel special. From the brand name and product selection to the packaging and customer experience, I want every detail to feel intentional and recognizable. My goal is for customers to see Boujee Beauty Collection LLC and immediately understand that it is a brand created to celebrate women.

Becoming a business owner taught me that having a great idea is only the beginning. I have had to learn about branding, product selection, marketing, customer service, planning, and the discipline required to turn a vision into something real, something tangible.

I have reached where I am today through faith, persistence, personal growth, therapy, a lot of praying and a willingness to keep learning and trying. I did not wait until everything was perfect before pursuing my goals. I started with what I had, learned through experience, and continued evolving along the way. Every challenge has helped me become more resilient, and every opportunity has encouraged me to dream bigger.

Today, I am proud to be a perfume content creator and the owner of Boujee Beauty Collection LLC. I am still growing, but I now have a clearer understanding of my purpose and the impact I want to make. I want women to see that it is possible to embrace every part of who they are, pursue more than one passion, and create a life that reflects their dreams. My journey is not only about perfume, beauty, or business—it is about using my voice, sharing my experiences, and encouraging other women to believe that they are capable of building something meaningful too.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a completely smooth road. Both content creation and building Boujee Beauty Collection LLC, have challenged me in ways I did not expect, but those challenges have also helped me grow into a more confident creator and business owner.

One of my biggest struggles with content creation has been learning how to remain consistent even when I do not see immediate results. Creating content requires much more than taking a picture or recording a video. I have to come up with ideas, research products, film, edit, write captions, engage with my audience, and continue learning what works. Sometimes I can put a lot of time and creativity into a post and it may not receive the engagement I expected. It can be discouraging, especially when it feels like other creators are growing faster. I have had to learn not to measure my value by views, likes, or follower counts.

Confidence has also been part of the journey. Putting myself online means allowing people to form opinions about me, my appearance, my personality, and my content. There have been moments when I questioned whether my content was good enough or whether I truly belonged in the beauty and fragrance space. I have also had to become comfortable speaking on camera, sharing my opinions, and showing up even when I did not feel completely confident. Over time, I realized that my authenticity is one of my greatest strengths. People connect with me because I am being myself, not because I am trying to be a copy of someone else.

Another challenge has been finding my own voice in a crowded industry. There are many talented beauty and fragrance creators, so I had to discover what makes my perspective different. I learned that I do not need to compete with everyone else. My goal is to create content that feels personal, honest, and relatable while helping people understand not only how a fragrance smells, but also how it can make them feel. Developing that voice took time, practice, and a willingness to keep improving.

Creating Boujee Beauty Collection LLC brought an entirely different set of challenges. I quickly learned that loving beauty products and running a beauty business are two very different things. Building a brand involves making decisions about products, vendors, inventory, pricing, packaging, marketing, shipping, customer service, and the overall customer experience. I have had to educate myself in areas where I did not already have experience and make important decisions without always knowing whether I was choosing the perfect option.

The financial side of building a product-based business has also been challenging. Before customers ever see the finished product, money must be invested in inventory, supplies, packaging, labels, branding, and promotion. As a growing business, I have had to be thoughtful about where I spend money and how much inventory to purchase. I want my products and presentation to reflect the luxurious vision I have for Boujee Beauty Collection LLC, but I also have to make responsible decisions that allow the business to grow at a realistic pace.

Preparing to launch has been another major lesson. I have had moments when I selected a launch date and later realized I needed more time to feel fully prepared. At first, changing a date felt like I was falling behind. I eventually understood that delaying a launch does not mean giving up on the dream. Sometimes it means protecting the brand, improving the details, and giving myself the time needed to create an experience I can be proud of. I would rather launch with intention than rush simply because I announced a date.

Balancing everything has also been difficult. I am not only building Boujee Beauty Collection LLC; I am also a perfume content creator, a mother and a wife, while still having responsibilities in my personal life. Each role requires time, energy, creativity, and focus. There have been times when I felt overwhelmed trying to give every area the attention it deserved. I have had to learn how to prioritize, plan ahead, set realistic goals, and give myself grace when everything cannot happen at once.

Another struggle has been managing perfectionism. Because Boujee Beauty Collection LLC is so personal to me, I want every detail to be right. I want the products, branding, packaging, website, photographs, and launch to match the vision I have in my mind. That desire for excellence can sometimes turn into overthinking or make it harder to move forward. I am learning that a business can evolve after it launches. Everything does not have to be perfect for me to begin; it needs to be thoughtful, authentic, and ready to serve my customers.

Despite these struggles, I am grateful for the journey because it has taught me patience, resilience, discipline, and trust in myself. I have learned that success is not always a straight line and that setbacks do not mean I am not meant to succeed. Every challenge has forced me to learn something new, strengthen my vision, and become more intentional.

The road has not been easy, but it has been meaningful. I am proud that I have continued moving forward even when I felt uncertain or discouraged. Content creation and Boujee Beauty Collection LLC are both still growing, and so am I. My struggles are part of my story, but they are not the end of it. They are helping shape me into the creator, entrepreneur, and woman I am becoming.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a perfume content creator, and entrepreneur, with a passion for helping women feel confident, beautiful, and empowered. My work centers on fragrance, beauty, self-care, and lifestyle, but everything I do is connected by one purpose: helping people make choices that make them feel good about themselves and the lives they are creating.

As a content creator, I specialize in perfume and fragrance education. I share honest reviews, recommendations, new discoveries, and personal favorites in a way that feels approachable and relatable. I understand that fragrance can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when people are unfamiliar with fragrance notes or do not know where to begin. My goal is to make the experience easier by explaining scents in a way people can understand. Instead of only listing fragrance notes, I describe the mood, personality, occasion, and feeling connected to a perfume. I might explain whether a fragrance feels soft and feminine, bold and seductive, clean and professional, or perfect for a special occasion. I want my audience to be able to imagine the experience of wearing a fragrance before purchasing it.

I am known for being genuine, enthusiastic, and honest about the products I share. My audience can see that my love for perfume is real, and I believe that authenticity helps people trust my recommendations. I do not want my content to feel overly complicated or disconnected from everyday life. I want it to feel like a conversation with someone who understands fragrance and is genuinely excited to help you find something you will love. I also recognize that everyone has different preferences, lifestyles, and budgets, so I try to create content that welcomes both longtime fragrance lovers and people who are just starting their collections.

I am also the founder of Boujee Beauty Collection LLC, a beauty and lifestyle brand inspired by my love for fragrance, femininity, luxury, and self-care. I created Boujee Beauty Collection LLC to give women products that help them feel polished, confident, and cared for. To me, “boujee” is not simply about spending money or owning expensive things. It is an attitude and an experience. It means valuing yourself, taking time for yourself, and finding ways to make ordinary moments feel special.

My role in Boujee Beauty Collection LLC includes much more than choosing products. I am involved in shaping the brand’s identity, developing its vision, creating marketing content, planning inventory, making decisions about packaging and presentation, and thinking about the overall customer experience. Every detail matters to me because I want the brand to feel feminine, luxurious, recognizable, and personal. I want customers to feel the thought and care behind the business from the moment they discover the brand to the moment they receive and use a product.

What I am most proud of is having the courage to turn my passion into something real. It is one thing to love perfume and beauty, but it is another thing to put yourself in front of an audience, build a brand, invest in your ideas, and continue moving forward when everything is not perfect. I am proud that I have allowed myself to pursue more than one dream. I have grown as a content creator, and built Boujee Beauty Collection LLC, while continuing to manage my personal life and responsibilities.

I am also proud of the trust I am building with my audience. In an industry where people are constantly being shown new products, trust is extremely valuable. I never want someone to feel that I am recommending something simply because it is popular. I want people to know that I am sharing my genuine experience and considering what may actually be helpful to them. Creating that type of connection takes time, consistency, and honesty, and it means a great deal to me when someone values my opinion or discovers a fragrance because of my content.

What sets me apart is the combination of my knowledge, personality, and personal experience. I approach fragrance as both a passionate consumer and a business owner. I understand the excitement of discovering a beautiful product, but I also understand the work required to create, market, and sell one. That gives me a broader perspective when I talk about beauty and fragrance.

I also bring my full personality into my work. I love luxury and glamour, but I am still relatable and approachable. I believe women can enjoy beautiful things, be ambitious, build careers, start businesses, and still be completely authentic. I do not believe I have to fit into only one category. Being a content creator, and entrepreneur, reflects the different sides of who I am, and each role has made me better at communicating, connecting with people, understanding their needs, and helping them feel confident in their decisions.

Ultimately, what distinguishes me is my ability to create an emotional connection between a product and the person considering it. I do not simply talk about what a perfume smells like or what a beauty product does. I communicate how it can make someone feel. Whether I am recommending a fragrance, or developing Boujee Beauty Collection LLC, I want people to leave the experience feeling informed, seen, and more confident. That is the impact I am most proud of, and it is the foundation of everything I am continuing to build.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My advice for finding a mentor is to begin by building a genuine relationship instead of immediately asking someone to become your mentor. Pay attention to people whose work, values, and career path truly inspire you. Engage with their content, support what they are building, and take time to learn from the information they already share. When you reach out, be respectful of their time and explain specifically what you admire about their journey. A thoughtful question such as, “What helped you build trust with your audience when you were starting?” is often more effective than a general request to “pick their brain.”

I also believe mentorship does not always have to begin with a formal title. Sometimes a mentor is someone who consistently offers advice, shares resources, provides honest feedback, or helps you see an opportunity differently. A person may naturally grow into that role after a relationship and mutual trust have been established. I have learned that it is also helpful to seek guidance from different people instead of expecting one mentor to have every answer. Someone may be able to guide me in content creation, while another person may have more experience with entrepreneurship, or product development.

What has worked well for me is being intentional and consistent when connecting with people. Social media has given me the opportunity to meet other fragrance lovers, beauty creators, entrepreneurs, and professionals whom I may not have met otherwise. I try to leave meaningful comments, respond to conversations, share other people’s work, and engage because I am genuinely interested—not simply because I want something from them. Networking becomes much more natural when the focus is on developing real relationships rather than collecting contacts.

I have also learned the importance of clearly introducing myself and being able to explain what I do. I am a perfume content creator, and the founder of Boujee Beauty Collection LLC. When I confidently communicate those parts of my work, it gives people several ways to connect with me. They may relate to my love for fragrance, or be interested in entrepreneurship. Being clear about who I am, what I am building, and what I hope to learn makes it easier for the right conversations and opportunities to develop.

Another thing that works well is offering value before asking for anything. Value does not always have to involve money or a large opportunity. It can mean sharing someone’s work, recommending their business, providing thoughtful feedback, making an introduction, or simply being dependable and supportive. Strong networking relationships should not feel one-sided. I want people to know that I am interested in how we can support each other, not only in what they can do for me.

Following up is equally important. Meeting someone once is only the beginning. Sending a short message afterward, mentioning something meaningful from the conversation, and staying in touch can turn a brief introduction into a lasting professional relationship. I try to be genuine rather than contacting people only when I need help. Celebrating their accomplishments and checking in occasionally helps maintain the connection.

I would also encourage people not to overlook peers as part of their network. A mentor does not always have to be someone who is far ahead of you. People who are growing alongside you can share resources, exchange ideas, collaborate, and hold you accountable. Some of the most valuable relationships are built between people who are learning at the same time and are committed to encouraging one another.

Most importantly, I believe you have to be willing to put yourself in spaces where connection can happen. That might mean attending beauty events, fragrance launches, business workshops, networking groups, or virtual communities. It can feel uncomfortable to introduce yourself, especially when you are new, but confidence grows through practice. I remind myself that I do not have to impress everyone—I simply need to be authentic, curious, and open to learning.

For me, successful networking is less about asking, “What can this person do for me?” and more about asking, “How can we build a meaningful connection?” The relationships that have been most valuable are the ones based on authenticity, consistency, mutual support, and shared interests. My biggest advice is to show up as yourself, be specific about what you are seeking, respect people’s time, and remain open to learning from every connection.
