Life & Work with Kadija Jalloh of DC & Surrounding Areas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kadija Jalloh.

Hi Kadija, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started creating content because I’ve always loved trying new restaurants, experiencing new things, and exploring different places. I naturally started sharing those experiences through content, and at first, it was really just something I did for fun. I would post lifestyle, food, travel, and different experiences around the DMV without really thinking of it as a business.

Over time, I realized how much I enjoyed creating and connecting with people through my content. I started being more intentional about what I was posting, experimenting with different types of content, and building my own series around exploring the DMV, restaurants, travel, and my everyday life.

One of the biggest turning points for me was realizing that I didn’t have to wait until I had a huge following to take myself seriously as a creator. I started reaching out to brands, creating UGC, attending events, working with local businesses, and building a portfolio that reflected the kind of creator I wanted to become.

Today, I’m continuing to grow my platforms while turning content creation into a real business. I’ve built a community around lifestyle, travel, food, and experiences, and I’m also expanding into event content creation and brand partnerships. My overall goal is to build a creative business that allows me to get paid to travel, experience new places, collaborate with brands, and create around the things I genuinely love.

I’m still very much in the building stage, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come from simply posting for fun to intentionally building a brand and business around something I genuinely love.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a good journey, but it definitely hasn’t always been a smooth one. One of the biggest struggles for me has been comparing myself to other creators and questioning whether I’m doing enough or progressing fast enough. Social media makes it really easy to look at someone else’s journey and feel like you’re behind, especially when you see people growing quickly or getting opportunities that you want for yourself.

I’ve also dealt with a lot of self-doubt. There have been times when I’ve questioned whether my content was good enough, whether people actually wanted to see what I was creating, or whether I could really turn this into a business.

I’ve had to learn that everyone’s journey looks different and that I can’t measure my progress based on someone else’s timeline. I’m still working through the self-doubt, but I’ve become much better at focusing on my own growth, staying consistent, and reminding myself why I started creating in the first place.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a lifestyle content creator who loves exploring new restaurants, experiences, and places and sharing those experiences through engaging content. I also do event content creation, where I capture special moments for events like corporate events, birthdays, baby showers, and other important celebrations.

I’m most proud of being able to turn something I started simply because I enjoyed it into a growing business. I’ve been able to build a community around the things I genuinely love while also creating opportunities to work with brands, local businesses, and individuals.

What sets me apart is that I really focus on the experience. Whether I’m creating content for a restaurant, a brand, or someone’s special event, I want the content to feel authentic and make people feel like they were there.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are two ways to work with me. Through my personal content creator brand, I collaborate with restaurants, travel brands, lifestyle brands, and businesses through brand partnerships, UGC, and sponsored content.

I also run my own event content creation business, where I capture social media content for birthdays, baby showers, corporate events, celebrations, and other special occasions.

For inquiries and collaborations, I can be reached at thedijaj@gmail.com. You can also find my work on Instagram at @lifewithdijaj and TikTok at @dijaaaj for my lifestyle content, and @lavishtouchcontent on Instagram for event content.

The best way to support me is by following, engaging with, and sharing my content, as well as referring me to brands, businesses, or anyone looking for event content.
