Life & Work with Guwap Baby of Virginia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Guwap Baby.

Hi Guwap, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m Guwap Baby, a female rapper from Newport News, Virginia, aka Bad News. Music has always been a way for me to express myself and tell my story. I started by chasing my passion and creating my own opportunities, eventually performing on bigger stages, opening for established artists such as ; Queen Key , Scar Lip and Jucee Froot. Staying focused on building my brand through music, modeling, and Pretty Girl Entertainment. Today, I’m a full-time psychology student and independent artist, balancing education with my creative dreams. My journey is about growth, independence, and proving that you can be more than one thing while still staying true to yourself.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being hearing impaired has definitely come with its challenges, but I’ve never let it stop me from chasing my dreams. Sometimes I have to work a little harder to communicate and navigate certain environments, but that’s just made me more determined.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m known for my spunky personality, bold energy, and girly-girl style with a street edge. I’m most proud of overcoming challenges as a hearing-impaired artist while balancing music, business, and being a full-time psychology student. What sets me apart is that I’m unapologetically ME! 💋🎤

What matters most to you?
My family matter the most to me because they are my support system. I don’t know what or where I would be without such a heavy support system from family.
