Hi Melissa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Twenty-eight years ago exactly I was deemed infertile when they discovered I had “the worst case of endometriosis the doctors had ever seen.” They were so sure I’d never have children a complete hysterectomy was recommended. At the counsel of a wise family member, I instead embarked on a 90-day journey to heal the disease all-naturally using the Ann Wigmore Livng Foods Lifestyle program.
Over that Summer of 1998 I cleansed and detoxified my body physically but also emotionally and spiritually, addressing the trauma of losing my mother at the young age of 8. I lost forty pounds of toxic weight effortlessly as my body healed and balanced. I’m pleased to report 5 months after my return became pregnant with my daughter, and a year after she was born became pregnant with my son. I have to happy and healthy adult children because of holistic healing, mind, body and soul.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Initially after that miraculous healing, I was inspired to become a Colon Hydrotherapist as enemas and colonics were a cornerstone of me getting well.
The healing art of Colon Hydrotherapy, although it’s been used for thousands of years, is not completely accepted mainstream. It was also routinely administered in hospitals before pharmaceuticals dominated the industry. Having said all that, facing opposition and sometimes severe criticism was something I had to learn to accept. We’ve come full circle though I’ve seen. After practicing for almost 26 years, it’s refreshing to see some doctors actually recommending this modality, and the general public questioning authority demanding these types of services. Goddess Mother Healing specializes in Colon Hydrotherapy its flagship service, that has origanically grown into a wide array of detox services including nutritional consulting and online programs. Emulating a teaching center style, we encourage our clients to take responsibility for their health empowering them to make improved lifestyle choices. We have embraced breaking from the pack by often guiding our clients to other particular modalities and diagnostics that will enhance their overall health. Fertility and women’s hormonal issues in general we are surely passionate about, however the demand for men’s health education in particular around detox has also come to the forefront.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Flexibility in the profession is a must. Ongoing learning both practitioner and client, continuing to ebb and flow as our nutritional and detox needs change as environment and food becomes more complicated thus so does our response to it.
