Check Out Andrada Florescu’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrada Florescu.

Andrada, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always been interested in mental health. During my undergraduate studies, I started training as an EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) couples therapist because I was passionate about love and discovering the ingredients that help people stay deeply connected and in love.
As I moved forward in my career, my interests shifted toward trauma healing. I realized that many of the things that were difficult to change—for both myself and my clients—weren’t changing simply because we understood them rationally. There was something held in the body that kept us from reaching those goals. That realization led me to explore therapies and tools like EMDR, hypnotherapy, and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.
Over time, my focus transformed. I realized that the deepest relationship we will ever have is the one with ourselves. My work became less about helping people fall back in love with each other and more about helping them cultivate self-love, because when we truly fall in love with ourselves, it naturally changes the way we love our partners, our relationships, and the world around us.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve been practicing psychotherapy for the last 6 years and belived I was in touch with myself and knew what was in my heart. Then, three years ago, I got sick. I developed a degenerative spinal condition that seemed to only worsen over time. The doctors couldn’t explain why I had developed it at just 27 years old. They simply told me to accept that it would be a condition I would have to live with for the rest of my life.
I went from being active—running, lifting weights, and maintaining a thriving clinical practice—to lying on the bathroom floor, unable to dress myself or sit for more than 20 minutes at a time during my therapy sessions because of the pain.
The pain and despair were strong enough to shake me and force me to look inward. I began asking myself: What in my life was so misaligned that it was creating this much distress in my body?
So I started looking at myself—my fears, my doubts, my trauma. I was stuck in a marriage that wasn’t making me happy, but I didn’t have the tools within myself to communicate, improve it, or change it. That became the beginning of my journey.
I started meditating every day and, little by little, I began imagining a different life. I became curious: Is there another reality where my body and my heart could heal?
Slowly, my back started healing. As I healed physically, I also started changing emotionally. I became more confident, more empowered, and more capable of making decisions and moving forward with my life.
Now my mission is to share the tools that helped transform my life, along with the stories of transformation I’ve witnessed in my clinical practice. That’s why my course is called Alchemy of Heartbreak. I truly believe there is power in the suffering we experience as women. If we learn to use that pain as fuel instead of letting it define us, we can transmute it and we become unstoppable. And we can wake up one day living a reality that once didn’t even seem possible.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and my passion is guiding people home to themselves—helping them transform, heal, and embody their fullest expression.
I help clients uncover the hidden parts of your psyche that have not yet been brought to light or put into words. The very parts keeping people from their light. My passion is helping clients unravel your subconscious mind.

I am most proud of the course I recently developed – Alchemy of heartbreak where I help women transmute the pain of hearbreak and transform their life. I’ve taken both my personal and clinical experience from the last decade and compiled it into a four-week journey with clear practices: hypnotherapy, mental rehearsal, goal setting to help women unlock the power of their subconscious mind and become free.
My work is rooted in exploring the unseen – the unconscious mind. I integrate evidence-based and experiential approaches that help clients heal deep wounds and access their greatest potentiaI. see myself as a guide, allowing you to explore your inner world while giving you all the support and tools you need. I know you already have everything you need inside of you. My role is simply to guide you back to yourself. You no longer have to keep searching outside of yourself to change how you feel on the inside. I will help you meet the one you’ve been looking for all along—and it’s you.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
A big mentor in my life has been boss and clinical supervisor, Eleni Bosalis. She completely changed the way I think as a therapist. She introduced me to different ways of seeing people, taught me to ask better questions, and challenged me to look not only at my clients but also at myself. She constantly asked me how I was showing up, why I was responding the way I was, and encouraged me to become comfortable with being uncomfortable. She introduced me to the tools I would later fall in love with—EMDR, hypnotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. She transformed the way I think, feel, and practice.
Another important mentor has been my clinical supervisor, Amy Begnal. She gave me structure, helped me think through complex cases, and strengthened my clinical foundation through research and practical techniques that gave me confidence in the therapy room.
One of the greatest lessons I learned from both of them is that I need to know the technique so well that I no longer have to think about them in the session. When I trust my knowledge, I can let it go, be fully present with my client, and truly meet them where they are.
