Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Jones.
Hi Chris, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Ever since I was a young boy, I was constantly building—whether crafting models, making stop-motion films, or fabricating custom creations. That innate drive to build led me to West Virginia University, where I earned a BFA in Graphic Design, and subsequently spent 16 years running my own successful design firm.
Becoming a parent rekindled my passion for hands-on fabrication and functional interiors. After designing a custom nursery for my son, the project gained significant media attention—including features in People magazine—prompting a complete pivot in my career. For the next 14 years, I focused on high-end, bespoke children’s interiors worldwide, managing projects ranging from $20K to $300K. This work culminated in an invitation from a New York architectural publisher to author Thinkterior: Amazing Bespoke Kids Interiors.
The idea for my next major venture struck while designing a kids’ hotel project in Thailand. Noticing a distinct need for furniture that could grow alongside a child into adulthood, I engineered myWall—a patented, highly versatile pegboard system. After debuting the prototype in Bangkok, architects and designers quickly recognized its broad potential beyond children’s rooms.
Today, our company manufactures myWall in the US, featuring over 60 standard accessories and hundreds of installations nationwide. Our client roster spans major corporate brands—such as Apple, Fidelity, DraftKings, ESPN, and NBC Sports—as well as educational institutions and private residences. While I still take on select interior commissions, my day-to-day energy is dedicated to expanding the myWall system for commercial and residential spaces alike.
A few parts that I left out are that I was in the National Guard, joining during HS and paying for college. I served during Desert Storm in a Field Artillery unit, and supporting the Armed Forces has been a very big part of my life. I originally was employed by the CIA as a designer, but quickly realized my passion for creating, would probably not be best spent making training aids for case officers.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My motto is, hard works ALWAYS pays off. In my career, if I truly had a belief in a project or a passion, then just sticking with it always ended up with the goal becoming a reality.
A few small lessons learned that are helpful to other people in the industry are:
– if you have an idea that you think could some day be patented, then don’t sell any. First file for a patent (first a patent search), and then continue and you can sell. If not, and you sell it before filing for a patent, then that idea is gone forever.

– Be careful of who you partner with if you are going into business. It is not always the best idea to go in with a friend. Lesson learned.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have been most known for my kids interiors. I have done projects across the US and around the world. (Dubai, England, Mexico, Singapore, etc.) I love producing kids/family rooms with creating creative spaces that have multiple functions and last for many years. I have always hated kids rooms that have a specific heavy theme, that can be out grown quickly. I have a few rooms that I am most proud of.

Setting me apart from others is the total customization of all elements (design, fabrication, installation)
Creating my product “myWall” has been the answer to the needs of almost any room that I now create, being either residential or commercial in nature.
What were you like growing up?
My childhood was a constant blur of building things, painting, and drawing. My daily passion was making things. From models to trains, and dungeons and dragons, I was always creating. For many years I loved creating stop animation films with clay, that let me create characters and sets. As I grew older, I was lucky to make a career that fed that passion. I don’t think I go a day when I am not working on something (just for fun).
My other passion is fitness (probably going back into the military days). I have worked out for the past 41 years (starting at age 16) In the past I loved doing Adventure Racing, Jeep Racing (sponsored team), trail running races, mountain biking races, spartan, tough mudder, etc. I like being active.
