Today we’d like to introduce you to Jolie Carroll.
Hi Jolie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Vintage 29 is owned by Jolie Carroll and Lyle Bowers who met while working together in the antique business. We had a shared vision for what we liked to see as shoppers ourselves and decided to take the leap and open our own shop. We wanted to offer a curated shopping experience with an open and inviting vibe. We opened in November 2024 in Warrenton , VA in the old Gill Implement building. We have been fortunate to assemble an incredible team of vendors who have helped us make the shop a success.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It really has been! We really learned a lot about what we didn’t want before opening which was probably more helpful than anything. Working in the business as vendors and being antique lovers/shoppers ourselves for so many years gave us valuable insight into what we believed customers were looking for not just in merchandise but also shopping experience.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We offer a wide variety of vintage and antiques – furniture, home decor and accessories, lighting ,original art and so much more. We have 45 very talented curators and artists all under one roof that work incredibly hard to make every trip to the shop a great experience. I think we are most proud of the response that we’ve gotten from our customers and the community. We believe we are a great place to shop but we have also tried to create a place where people feel good and always welcome.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
When customers tell us how much they love the shop! When new customers become regulars! We really enjoy meeting and getting to know our customers. It is such a great feeling when all the hard work pays off and the store looks beautiful. It is the ultimate compliment when customers find things they love enough to put in their own homes.
