Today we’d like to introduce you to Slappy Mcpatty.

Hi Slappy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I broke my way into this world kicking and screaming through my mother’s ribs with a hole in my heart and death nipping at my heels. Low and behold to me death became my forever companion, The Slappy saga begins, My tumultuous beginnings was something I would learn later in life was a foundation that gave me a zest and a fight for life.
I’ve had a saying throughout my life” find a way or make one”. I’ve never been one to understand when someone says that can’t be done. I always question why, and then figure out how! Breathing life into all matter of different works and seeing them take on a meaning in life of their own has been a driving force within my life! I take much inspiration from nature herself and the beauty of imperfection as well as the structures within nature that seem almost mathematically impossible. I’ve learned to never lose Wonder, waking everyday with the eyes of a new life allows you to tap into a creative force and to flow that makes the seemingly impossible possible! For everything was impossible until it was indeed a possibility and a reality. So my job, my calling and my passion is to be a maker of mystic Wonder.
With a truly unbridled creative flow and childlike abandonment, art and creation can enrich your life to a point of continued Bliss, so it always reflects you. Your are a wonder!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This life has been nothing but a crucible for me. Tempering and challenging the strength of my metal and edge. Beaten broken abused. All things I have come to understand in this life but I have yet to lose my wonder, despite the trials and Odyssey I’ve endured I’ve found within the suffering. There is also great lesson. Great creative Force. I’ve learned to work with the dark and the light of this existence and use it and funnel it to help me get such a deep understanding of what this creation and experience of life is truly about and to try and help the universe express itself through me in the best way possible. It is my honor to be able to harness creative Force.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a multi-disciplinary maker, artist and musician. I specialize in making the impossible, possible, My life has allowed me an allotment of career modalities that has taught me a plethora of skills that allows me to utilize them all in conjunction with one another.

Discovering New ways, New paths and unorthodox combinations that gives me a unique ability, style and personality is what has inspired me to immortalize it in a moniker!

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Always be the perpetual student, humble oneself to always allow for new ideas and new ways of learning and being taught. Do work in trade to trade experience and different ways of thinking, then maybe outside of what you’ve already understood. Be patient with yourself with your craft and with those that help you learn, everything takes time and it’s the journey itself that truly holds deeper lessons. Fear not to mess up for we all do. It is a part of the process thus doing so is part of the growth! My father has always told me if you want to know how something is done, start at the source. Learn from those that have done it for a lifetime so you may yourself get a lifetime worth of understanding.
