Today we’d like to introduce you to Allie Jones.
Hi Allie , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When I was 11, I was in the car with my sister and told her how cool her friend’s clothing brand was. Right then, a spark went off in my head: I want to make my own line. She asked me what the name would be, and I said it had to have something to do with stars. That’s how I came up with 1vsAMillion. The whole idea behind it is that you’re a shining star versus a million other’s—to keep going and standout.
I’ve always been obsessed with fashion, clothes, and shopping, so I immediately started sketching designs on my iPad. Fast forward to December 2024, I finally showed my mom my first official design. She believed in me and helped me find a manufacturer to bring my very first piece, the “Party Shiner,” to life.
Since then, things have been crazy in the best way possible. I’ve been hustling at pop-up shops, telling my story on the news, and even seeing my clothes on fashion show runways!
1vsAMillion is an inspirational streetwear brand, and literally anyone can wear it because of what it stands for. I’m only 13, but I have huge goals. I want to see my clothes in stores everywhere, open my own shop one day, and make people all over the world feel confident and good about themselves when they wear my brand.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not smooth! Being an entrepreneur means you gotta take risks, and sometimes things go wrong. For me, the hardest part was when my manufacturer completely messed up a batch of my designs. The quality just wasn’t where it needed to be, and there was no way I was gonna put my name on something I didn’t love—so I couldn’t sell them. Losing that money was painful, but it just made me smarter about how I run 1vsAMillion.
As you know, we’re big fans of 1vsamillion. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I started 1vsAMillion when I was just 11 years old! I got super inspired by one of my sister’s friends who had a brand, so I grabbed my iPad and just started sketching like crazy. When I told my mom I was serious about having my own brand, she backed me up 100% and helped me find our first manufacturer.
Right now, 1vsAMillion makes shirts, hoodies, and accessories. What really sets us apart is the name and what it stands for. I knew I wanted something to do with stars—1vsAMillion means you’re the shining star versus a million others, no matter what.
I’m super proud of how far this has gone already. I actually won a few awards, including “Best Youth Business,” which was so cool! My brand has also walked in big fashion shows like The 100 Model March, Charlotte Fashion Week, and even New York Fashion Week. When I was in NYC recently, I looked up and could totally picture my brand up on a Times Square billboard one day.
More than anything, I want people to know that I’m just a kid with a huge dream and a massive passion for fashion. My goal is to see my clothes in stores all over the world. We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me, success isn’t just about making money or being famous—it’s about waking up every day and actually loving what you’re doing. It’s seeing someone walk down the street wearing my 1vsAMillion hoodie and knowing that my clothes made them feel confident and cool. Success is also about not giving up when things get hard. Every time I get past a problem, like a messed-up sample from a manufacturer, and still keep pushing toward my big goals—like getting into stores or having a billboard in Times Square—that feels like success to me.
