Today we’d like to introduce you to Dayna Hlinko.
Hi Dayna, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my career as a speech-language pathologist because I wanted to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, especially for individuals who often struggle to have their voices heard. Over the years, my clinical experience grew, and I began to see a need for a more personalized, patient-centered approach to therapy.
That led me to start Pinnacle Therapies. I initially started as a mobile and virtual practice so I could provide individualized outpatient care to people who might otherwise have difficulty accessing or receiving the services they needed. What began as a small vision has grown into a business that allows me to combine my passion for clinical care with my interest in creating a supportive experience for clients, families, and clinicians. Building the business has definitely come with its challenges, but it has also been incredibly rewarding.
Today, I’m proud of how far Pinnacle Therapies has come and excited about where it’s going. My goal has always been to provide quality, individualized care while continuing to grow a practice that genuinely makes a difference in the community.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Starting a business while continuing to provide hands-on clinical care has come with its share of challenges. I’ve had to learn the business side of things along the way—from scheduling and finances to staffing, insurance, and the many behind-the-scenes responsibilities that come with running a practice.
There have also been times when growth has meant stepping outside of my comfort zone and figuring things out as I went. But those challenges have taught me to be adaptable, persistent, and willing to keep learning. They’ve also helped shape Pinnacle Therapies into what it is today. Looking back, some of the hardest moments have ultimately been some of the most valuable because they pushed me to grow both personally and professionally.
As you know, we’re big fans of Pinnacle Therapies. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Pinnacle Therapies is an outpatient speech-language therapy practice focused on providing individualized, meaningful care for children and adults. We provide services for communication, speech and language, feeding, and swallowing, including specialized support for individuals with complex communication needs and those who may benefit from AAC.
Pinnacle Therapies began as a mobile and virtual practice with a simple goal: to make quality, individualized outpatient therapy more accessible to people who might otherwise have difficulty receiving the services they need. As we have grown, we have continued to hold onto that same philosophy—therapy should be personalized to the individual, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
What sets us apart is the level of individualized attention we provide. We take the time to understand each client, their strengths, challenges, goals, and everyday environment, and we work closely with families and other professionals when appropriate. We also strive to make therapy practical and functional, focusing on skills that can make a real difference in a person’s daily life.
I’m most proud of the Pinnacle Therapies brand because it represents more than just a therapy practice. It represents accessibility, compassion, individualized care, and the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to communicate and participate as fully as possible. As we continue to grow, I want people to know that behind Pinnacle Therapies is a team that genuinely cares about the people we serve and is committed to helping each individual reach their own personal “pinnacle.”
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I would say the qualities that has been most important to my success is persistence and perseverance. Building a business and growing professionally doesn’t always happen quickly or easily, and there have been plenty of challenges and moments when things didn’t go as planned. I’ve learned to keep moving forward, even when the path isn’t clear or the next step feels difficult.
I believe that being willing to keep trying, learn from setbacks, adapt, and not give up has made all the difference. Persistence has allowed me to turn challenges into opportunities for growth and continue building Pinnacle Therapies into the practice I envisioned. For me, success isn’t about never facing obstacles—it’s about continuing to move forward despite them.
