Community Highlights: Meet Vu Nguyen of Zen Day Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vu Nguyen.

Hi Vu, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up in Vietnam and developed a strong work ethic from a young age. After moving to the United States, I pursued a career in the beauty industry and eventually built four successful nail salons. Wanting to offer something unique to the community, I opened Zen Day Spa to introduce the Vietnamese -inspired Head Spa experience. Today, with 313 Nail Bar located right next to Zen Day Spa, our clients can enjoy a complete self-care experience, from relaxing Head Spa treatments to manicures and pedicures, all in one place.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like many small business owners, the journey hasn’t always been smooth. Starting and growing multiple businesses came with challenges, including learning a new culture and business environment, managing growth, and balancing work with family life. Opening a new concept like Zen Day Spa also required educating the community about the benefits of Head Spa treatments. However, those challenges helped us grow stronger and more determined. Seeing our clients enjoy the experience and support our businesses has made the journey incredibly rewarding.

We’ve been impressed with Zen Day Spa, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Zen Day Spa specializes in Vietnamese-inspired Head Spa treatments focused on relaxation, scalp health, and wellness. What sets us apart is our personalized experience and peaceful atmosphere. We’re proud to bring the Head Spa concept to our community and provide a complete self-care experience, with one of our nail salons conveniently located next door for manicures and pedicures.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
