Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad Barrett.
Hi Chad, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I first started using a camera professionally in broadcast sports as a camera operator. As a teenager, film production was my life goal. That lead me into photography and I fell in love with it. I started as a landscape photographer while living in VA. After meeting my mentor, Weston Mosburg, I began my fashion and commercial photography business in NY.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has been bumpy for sure. As with any business, it requires a lot of work. When it’s just a hobby I could focus on the creative side a lot more. As a business, I have to do a lot more work finding clients, managing finances, and all the other operational things. Of course there’s slower times and busier times. The stress is worth it to be able to do what I love and earn a living.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a fashion and commercial photographer with a studio in NYC, but I work in NY, NJ and Philly. I’m known for e-commerce and look book photography. I also cover fashion shows at NYFW and LFW. I’m most proud of the fact that I get to help new designers grow their business through e-commerce and creating ad campaigns.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I work with brands to execute their e-commerce and advertising needs to drive revenue growth. I also work with models to build and expand their portfolios to help them get signed to an agency and land more jobs. Anyone wanting to collaborate should reach out.
