Today we’d like to introduce you to Ciera Thomas.
Hi Ciera, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story begins in Roanoke, Va. I was born to 2 high school sweethearts raised by my village. I grew up in a church and in a christian school and while my life was full with sports, church activities and extra curricular activities — I struggled greatly with identity. I struggled with my identity as a believer, as a biracial girl never fitting in culturally, and this identity crisis continued into my college career. I was aware there was something unique on my life however I did not know how to steward it. Through pray and fasting I finally found an outlet through blogging and writing devotionals. What I was not always able to understand or articulate, I was able to express in writing. What started as an online blog and 600 follower led to working in full-time ministry, preaching engagements, panels, influencer events, almost 100k followers across social media platforms, and a self-published author of a 21 Day Devotional.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This by far has been a challenging journey. From losing myself, losing friendship, toxic relationships that ended in heartbreak, transitions that were extremely uncomfortable, all created shifts in my life that made me want to quit. I struggled with imposter syndrome, insecurity, fear, you name it. Yet, in all that I lost — I gained the most beautiful relationship and awareness of Jesus.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work is centered around helping women know Christ, understand their identity in Him, and experience the power of redemption. I’m an itinerant preacher, author, and ministry leader, and I’m passionate about using preaching, writing, and creative ministry spaces to help women grow in their relationship with Jesus.
For several years, I had the opportunity to serve in full-time ministry, where I was able to lead, preach, develop ministry initiatives, and pour into people in a local church context. That season gave me a strong foundation in ministry and helped shape the way I understand leadership, discipleship, and serving people.
Now, I’m stepping into a new season where I’m combining ministry and entrepreneurship. I’m pursuing itinerant preaching while building a body of work centered around writing devotionals, Bible studies, and practical resources for women. I’m also creating spaces and experiences where women can gather, grow in Scripture, and encounter Christ.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see myself continuing to grow as an itinerant preacher, author, and entrepreneur. I want to create retreats, devotionals, books, and resources that help women know Christ, experience healing, and walk confidently in their identity.
I also see myself building strong communities and creating meaningful spaces where women can gather, grow, and encounter God. Ultimately, I want to build something that extends beyond me—resources, communities, and experiences that continue to impact women wherever they are.
