Conversations with Julia Sandrock

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Sandrock.

Hi Julia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My path has been a bit unconventional. I started my career in consulting after earning my MBA, but over time I realized I was much more drawn to the human side of transformation, helping people understand themselves, move through difficult transitions, and create lives that feel more aligned.

That led me into wellness coaching and somatic work, where I became a Certified Wellness Coach and trained in Somatic Reprocessing. I’ve since built a practice supporting people through personal growth, healing, and major life transitions.

Writing has become another important part of that journey. I published my first book, *Decide, Now*, in 2026, which grew out of many of the lessons I’ve learned personally and professionally about choice, self-trust, and creating meaningful change.

Today, I’m continuing to bring those different parts of my background together, coaching, somatic work, writing, and education, and I’m especially interested in the intersection of personal transformation and embodied change.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Some of the biggest struggles have been navigating major personal transitions while simultaneously trying to figure out who I am and what I truly want my life to look like.

There have been periods of uncertainty, loss, burnout, and having to rebuild parts of my life from the ground up. I’ve had to learn how to let go of relationships, identities, and expectations that no longer felt aligned, while developing a much deeper sense of self-trust.

Ironically, many of those difficult experiences became the foundation for the work I do today. They taught me that transformation isn’t always linear or comfortable, and that sometimes the most meaningful growth comes from the seasons when you feel the least certain about what comes next.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work sits at the intersection of wellness, personal transformation, and embodied healing. I’m a Certified Wellness Coach and Somatic Practitioner, and I work with people who are navigating major transitions, reconnecting with themselves, and wanting to create meaningful change from the inside out.

I specialize in helping people move beyond simply understanding their patterns intellectually and actually experiencing change in their bodies, relationships, and daily lives. My approach combines coaching, somatic practices, nervous-system awareness, movement, and reflection.

I’m also an author. My first book, *Decide, Now*, explores the power of choice and self-trust, and I’m currently working on my second book, which goes deeper into reclamation, embodiment, healthy love, and becoming more fully yourself.

What I’m most proud of is building a body of work that grew directly from my own experiences and turning difficult chapters into something that can genuinely serve other people.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I think the wellness and personal transformation industry is moving toward a much more integrated understanding of well-being. For a long time, wellness was often treated as separate categories: mental health, physical health, fitness, nutrition, spirituality. I think we’re increasingly recognizing that these systems are deeply interconnected.

Over the next 5–10 years, I expect to see more emphasis on nervous-system regulation, somatic practices, trauma-informed approaches, and the mind-body connection. I also think people will become more discerning about wellness and move away from quick fixes and overly prescriptive solutions toward approaches that are personalized, evidence-informed, and sustainable.

AI will also change the industry significantly. It can make information and certain forms of support much more accessible, but I think that will actually make human connection, presence, embodiment, and truly individualized work more valuable, not less.
