Daily Inspiration: Meet Angie Zawistowski

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angie Zawistowski.

Hi Angie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a teacher by trade. After teaching for 9 years, I became a stay-at-home mom when my first daughter was born in 2010. Continuing my passion for education and family I started doing daycare in my home. I quickly learned that I needed adult relationships after being home with the infants/toddlers all day. I began working with the direct sales company Tastefully Simple which offers simple to prepare food options to the public. Excellent seasonings, sauces, bread and cake mixes – that I had already used for over ten years myself. I finally had found my passion. I love cooking, making friendships and relationships, building communities and helping others, especially busy parents, get the most out of their time with their family. I held freezer meal prep classes that combined community with home cooked meals. Then covid hit and we couldn’t all gather. So I started prepping meals for my friends out of my home while I had a houseful of children virtually learning. Just trying to help others that needed more time in their days. I created my LLC – The Foodie Mama and haven’t looked back. I still provide simple recipes and easy products to friends, family, and clients through Tastefully Simple – but now I also assist in meal planning, meal prep, gift baskets, grazing tables and charcuterie boards, online cooking classes, in person food experiences, and so much more! I teach an online Virtual Meal Prep every month, always the 3rd Tuesday of the month. I offer in-person experiences so friends can gather and step into a delicious life. Some of these classes are Bountiful Beer Bread Focaccia Art Classes, Creating your own Charcuterie Classes, Salad in a Jar Classes, Cookie Workshops…etc. I work with small businesses to plan menus and help provide food for events. I help individuals and families with easy to cook, and heat and eat, meal options.

I have been married for 19+ years and have three children – 16, 14, 12. Originally from Punxsutawney, Pa and living in Virginia Beach since 2004.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been smooth – ish. The biggest factor is balancing my own time with my family and helping other families. I do what I do so I can work around my children and their sport/school schedules. Over the years, I have definitely smoothed out my process.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I think I am known for my passion. I truly love what I do (which I explained in detail in a prior question). I am always told that people can tell my enthusiasm and excitement when I talk about my work. My heart goes into my food and menu planning. I truly LOVE building communities and helping others shine and rising together! By helping with graduation parties, bridal showers, baby showers, corporate events, client and customer appreciation events – I am making friends…building relationships and communities…and keeping my passion in the spotlight.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Intentional Growth – my word/phrase of the year. I love what I do…but I want to keep my passion. I’m very lucky in the fact that I set my own schedule and can balance accordingly. I do not want to burn out as I see so many small business owners do. So I def. see my self continuing over the next 5-10 years….no big shifts/changes.
