Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Robinson.
Hi Erica, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Some say desperation is the catalyst for change. For me, that catalyst was the realization that this doesn’t have to be my life—that I have the power to change it. In the middle of a global pandemic, I chose to stop playing the supporting cast in my own life. I traded control for freedom and silence for my own voice. Today, I’m not yet the woman I see in my head; I’ve only been shown the end from the beginning. But let me tell you, the ups and downs make for an incredible story—like a book I just can’t put down.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
If life is the greatest teacher, and we learn the most from mistakes and unfortunate events, then my life plays out like a docu-drama worthy of a Netflix series. In 2020, I finally escaped a 22-year marriage. I thought I had cleared the ultimate hurdle, but my victory was short-lived; almost a year to the date later, I was diagnosed with stage 4 appendiceal cancer. So, the answer to your question is no—there is nothing smooth about the road I’m on. I’m fighting for my life, a lot like Mike Tyson fought Evander Holyfield..dirty.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
In 2026, the project is me. If life is the greatest teacher, then my curriculum has been a masterclass in resilience. I have found my voice in the fight for my body and its place in this world. I want to share what I’m most proud of: the blueprint for getting up again and again. What was meant for my downfall has been turned around for my good. The question isn’t what sets me apart from others, but WHO sets me apart. I am a weapon being forged for a fight—me vs. me—and may the greatest version of myself win.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Realizing the “me” I want to be. To be honest, I don’t know if I have ever felt such deep-seated joy. Learning to immerse myself in self-love and witnessing my own growth is the eighth wonder of the world. Sometimes I have so much happiness that there is an abundance of joy to pour into those around me, which in turn, they reflect back to me. This type of reciprocation is profound.
