Daily Inspiration: Meet Jenna Milburn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Milburn.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started working for Premier Health Resources, Inc when I was in nursing school. PHR is an Occupational Health care company that was stared by Lowell Henderson in 2006. When I started we were partnered with two local companies to provide healthcare services directly to their workforce, helping their employees stay healthy while making care more convenient and accessible.

After nursing school he started a branch of the company called Premier DOT – this company is here help ensure CLD drivers are medically fit to safely perform their jobs and, when required, provide the medical certification they need to stay qualified to drive. At this time we were in a “mobile unit” located by my parents construction company Carroll Construction (thanks Mom & Dad!). While we were in this location, we started by seeing around 50 – 90 drivers a year at the most. In February 2023, a girl I went to nursing school with named Jencia reached out and said she wanted to help me with physicals as her part time job. I was thrilled! Once Jenica came on board, I realized that drivers loved her, and she made DOT physicals a comfortable, low stress place to come. Business started to increase. 2024 – Dr. Audrea Wynn starts as our supervising physician. After 1 day of working in the mobile unit she says we have to get out of here. We need a brick and mortar…I say after YES PLEASE because at this point we started to get busier.

In April of 2024, we moved into a new spot – and business started rapidly growing. May of 2025 I left my other part time job to focus on soley on PHR. Within the last year we went from having 30-40 appointments a month (which already felt like such an accomplishment) to seeing 250 + appointments a month just at the Premier DOT clinic. I also obtained a contract with the local university where I staff providers for their on-site wellness clinic for the students and staff. PHR currently has 3 on-site clinics & Premier DOT. We also take many of our services on the road, traveling directly to businesses and individuals for DOT physicals, drug and alcohol testing, lab draws, occupational health screenings, and other workforce health needs.

May of 2026 I realized I need to hire more providers – which put Rachel in front of me. Meeting her was serendipitous and the interview lasted over an hour. She shared her dreams with me…in which I paused – looked at her and said wait a second…those are my dreams too. Over the last 5 months Rachel & I created EverWell Health Collective. This new Primary Care / Urgent Care / Multi-specialty clinic really grew out of the work we were already doing through PHR. As we cared for local workforces and interacted with people every day, we began to see a bigger need in our community—people wanted healthcare that felt personal, accessible, and un-rushed. We saw an opportunity to take what we had learned through occupational health and expand it into true patient-centered care.

EverWell was created to be a place where patients feel heard and cared for, not like just another number on a schedule. Our goal is to provide practical, accessible healthcare while building real relationships with the people we serve. PHR showed us where the need was, and EverWell became our way of answering it.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There have definitely been obstacles. Taking ownership of PHR meant learning an entirely different side of healthcare—business operations, finances, staffing, regulations, and everything that happens behind the scenes.

As we grew, another challenge was learning how to balance opportunity with sustainability. I have a tendency to see a need and immediately think, “How can we help?” But I’ve learned that growth has to be thoughtful. Building the right team, navigating the financial risks of expansion, and learning when to say yes—and sometimes when to say no—have all been part of the journey.

Every obstacle has taught me something, though. I’m much more confident in my ability to figure things out, surround myself with the right people, and keep moving forward even when I don’t have every answer.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Our work really centers around making healthcare more accessible. Through PHR and Premier DOT, we specialize in occupational health—DOT physicals, drug and alcohol testing, lab work, employee physicals, and other workforce health services. One thing we’ve become known for is our flexibility. We don’t always expect people to come to us; we travel to businesses and individuals when needed and work hard to make services convenient for both employers and their employees.

EverWell Health Collective is the next extension of that mission. It allows us to take the relationships and experience we’ve built through occupational health and provide more comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare to our community.

What I’m most proud of is how much of our growth has happened because people trust us. We genuinely care about the people who walk through our doors. We listen, we try to find solutions, and we aren’t afraid to think outside the box when someone needs help. I think that personal approach is what sets us apart. We want healthcare to feel like people taking care of people again.

What were you like growing up?
I’ve always been a helper and someone who naturally wants to take care of people. Sometimes that trait gets me into trouble because I have a hard time not going the extra mile, even when it would probably be easier to say no!

Looking back, though, that part of my personality has played a huge role in building my businesses. So much of what we do today comes from simply listening to what someone needs and saying, “Okay, let’s figure this out.” I’ve built a business around going out of my way to help people, solve problems, and make things a little easier for them—and I’m really proud of that.
