Hi Chesler, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Consensus and Direct was born in the midst of poor leadership. I was looking to provide customers with a roadmap on in demand leadership skills. It has since evolved into, hopefully, training businesses and governments on subjects that i have become well versed over the past 13 years.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Set up was pretty smooth and straightforward. I have set up the website, applied for grants, set up a nonprofit wing, bank account, etc. The biggest obstacle is figuring out who I can reach out to for business as a federal employee; the government has ethical restrictions on who you can solicit for an outside business.

At Consensus and Direct, we conduct research that enhances understanding of U.S. Security Cooperation, Energy, and Unexploded Ordnances. This is achieved by offering education and leadership training for U.S. allies, focusing on strategic alignment, dialogue, institutional capacity, and effective defense-civilian decision-making. Our programs are tailored for civilian defense officials, foreign affairs leaders, and emerging security professionals and are delivered in partnership with academic institutions, and international organizations. Our programs are designed for senior civilian and military leadership and can be delivered in-country, virtually, or through executive workshops. We tailor instruction to each partner nation’s strategic objectives and security environment.
