Exploring Life & Business with Crystal Burton of Hungry Hungry Arrow Catering and Events Business

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Burton.

Hi Crystal, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My passion for cooking began at a very young age. I used to cook alongside my great grandmothers and grandmothers in the kitchen on both sides of the family.

As I grew older, my first jobs were in restaurants when I purchased my first car at 16 years old.

Throughout my time at The College of William and Mary, I continued working in the restaurant business while attending school full time,

As a proud member of the Mattaponi Tribe, I have always been involved in my Tribe’s cultural events since I was a small child.

I grew up spending many Summers on the Mattaponi Indian Reservation, and I have lived in King William County now for almost 14 years.

After working for several years as a Territory Sales Manager, I decided to step out on my own in the Fall of 2016.

I did some market research, came up with a name, and applied for a loan. The rest is history.

Firefly Foods LLC DBA Hungry Hungry Arrow Catering and Events Business and Food Truck was established. And, 10 plus years later, here we are!

I think that one of my biggest accomplishments- and I said this out loud for the very first time just the other day is “My business not only survived COVID., but we thrived and succeeded through COVID- when a lot of businesses were shutting down.”

This was how I really knew that I had made it .

Now, I take each day as an accomplishment, because I have succeeded in reaching my own personal goals.

And, I appreciate everyone who has helped support me along the way to get me where I am.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not everything is smooth sailing. Of course, there are always obstacles. But, in this business- like any other, you just always have to be prepared to pivot.

If you’re caught on your heels, someone will always be able to push you over. But, if you are on your toes- it’s a little less likely.

We’ve been impressed with Hungry Hungry Arrow Catering and Events Business , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
