Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Walker.
Hi Melissa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started Quality Mobile Labs LLC because I wanted to give back. Working in healthcare allowed me to see how difficult and expensive accessing basic healthcare services can sometimes be. I wanted to provide convenient and affordable laboratory testing, especially for individuals and families who may not have insurance or who want to avoid unexpected high insurance bills for basic lab testing.
I also wanted to help people who needs laboratory testing but may have difficulty getting to a doctor’s office, do not currently have a primary care provider, or simply want a more convenient way to stay informed about their health. My vision for Quality Mobile Labs is to help make laboratory testing more accessible so people can be proactive about their health, obtain the testing they need, and have information they can use when following up with a healthcare provider.
I always knew that one day I wanted to work for myself and build something of my own. After 24 years in healthcare, including 14 years with my previous company, I gained valuable experience in patient care, leadership professionalism, problem-solving, and serving others. Throughout my career, I realized that caring for people came naturally for me. I was often the person willing to go above and beyond to help someone, solve a problem, or make a patient feel more comfortable. I took pride in my bedside manner and my ability to bring compassion, professionalism, and a positive experience to the patients I served. Over the years, I knew I had the experience and leadership skills to take what I had learned and create something meaningful of my own.
My children were another major inspiration behind my decision. I am the proud mother of three boys, ages 31, 13, and 4, and being present for them is extremely important to me. Children only have one childhood, and I wanted the freedom to work hard and build a successful career while still having the time and flexibility to be present for their games, activities, milestones, and the everyday moments that I can never get back.
I also wanted to lead by example. I wanted my sons to understand that they do not have to limit themselves to working for someone else. With determination, hard work, faith in yourself, and the courage to pursue your vision, you can create something of your own and build a legacy for your family.
That vision became Quality Mobile Labs LLC. For me, this company is about much more than owning a business. It is about serving people, improving access to laboratory testing, creating opportunities, being present for my family, and building a legacy that can continue for generations to come.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to building Quality Mobile Labs LLC has not always been smooth. One of my biggest
challenges was learning when it was time to step away from the security of working for
someone else and trust myself enough to pursue the vision I had for my own business. After
spending many years working extremely hard for a company that required much of my time, I
realized I wanted to take my experience, work ethic, and passion for patient care and build
something of my own.
Turning that vision into an actual business required a great deal of planning, research, and
patience. I had to develop a business plan, determine which laboratory tests and services I
wanted to make available to patients, and learn the business side of healthcare while
continuing to build on my clinical experience, and getting my CLIA certification along with other credentials.
One of the more challenging parts of the process was finding the right physician to authorize
testing. I went through that process until God blessed Quality Mobile Labs LLC with an
Authorized Provider who was the right fit for the vision of the company. That relationship has
helped us expand what we can offer our patients, including access to appropriate follow-up
services and medications when needed after laboratory testing.
Another major challenge has been learning how to balance the demands of building a business
with being present for my family. Entrepreneurship requires sacrifice, long hours, and
persistence, but my family is also one of the reasons I chose this path. Through every
challenge, I have learned to remain patient, trust the process, continue learning, and stay
focused on why I started Quality Mobile Labs LLC in the first place.

I am the Founder and Owner of Quality Mobile Labs LLC, a healthcare company created to
make laboratory testing & mobile services more convenient and accessible. After more than 24 years of
experience in healthcare, I wanted to use my leadership skills, patient-care experience, and
passion for helping others to build something of my own.
Quality Mobile Labs provides convenient and affordable laboratory testing options, including
direct-to-consumer testing and mobile phlebotomy services. One of my goals is to help
individuals who may not have insurance, have difficulty getting to a physician, or simply want a
more affordable way to stay informed about their health.
Building this business has allowed me to turn years of healthcare experience into a service that
focuses on accessibility, professionalism, compassion, and quality patient care. My vision is to
continue growing Quality Mobile Labs while creating a positive impact in the communities and families we serve.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The qualities that has been most important to my success is determination. I remain focused
on my goals even when I face challenges or setbacks. Building Quality Mobile Labs has
required patience, perseverance, continuous learning, and the willingness to adapt. I
believe in providing excellent service, treating people with compassion and
professionalism, and never giving up on the vision I have for my business. My
determination to create accessible, convenient, and affordable healthcare services
continues to motivate me to grow and succeed.
