Today we’d like to introduce you to Vasanti Jivan.
Hi Vasanti, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up carrying deep emotional sensitivity, childhood wounds, and an inner longing to understand life beyond surface-level existence. Like many people, I searched for love, belonging, peace, and healing outside of myself for many years. Although I appeared functional on the outside, internally I often struggled with emotional pain, insecurity, self-doubt, and patterns that affected my relationships and overall well-being.
My spiritual journey began over 30 years ago when I discovered meditation at the Osho International Meditation Resort in Pune, India. That experience changed the direction of my life completely. For the first time, I felt there was a path that allowed me to look inward instead of continuously searching outside myself. I immersed myself deeply into meditation, mindfulness, breath awareness, healing therapies, yoga, and self-exploration. Over the years, I explored many different approaches including Vipassana, Zen, Sufi meditations, breathwork, somatic healing, Reiki, sound healing, and creative therapies.
Meditation brought tremendous awareness and transformation into my life, but I also realized that many emotional wounds and nervous system patterns remained stored deeply within the body. Later, discovering breathwork became another turning point in my healing journey. Through conscious breathing and somatic awareness, I experienced profound emotional release, deeper self-love, inner trust, and a connection to life that I had never felt before. Breathwork helped me understand how unresolved trauma, suppressed emotions, fear, and conditioning can silently shape our lives, relationships, health, and self-worth.
As I healed, I felt a natural calling to support others on their own journey. That calling eventually became Breathe of Love, a healing space devoted to emotional healing, nervous system regulation, meditation, breathwork, mindfulness, and spiritual growth. Today, I facilitate private sessions, workshops, healing circles, meditation retreats, and trauma-informed breathwork training programs both online and in person.
My work combines ancient spiritual wisdom with modern understanding of trauma, the nervous system, breath, and emotional healing. I create gentle and supportive spaces where people can reconnect with themselves, release emotional heaviness, and rediscover peace, love, and inner safety within their own body and heart.
For me, this work is not simply a profession — it is a deeply personal path of service born from my own healing journey. One of the most meaningful parts of this work is witnessing people remember that they are not broken, and that healing, transformation, and self-love are truly possible.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, both personally and professionally. My healing journey began because I was struggling deeply within myself. I carried emotional wounds, insecurity, fear, lack of trust, and patterns from childhood that affected my relationships, self-worth, and inner peace for many years. Outwardly life may have looked normal, but internally I often felt disconnected, emotionally overwhelmed, and unsure of myself.
One of the biggest challenges was realizing that healing is not something that happens overnight. I spent years exploring different forms of meditation and spiritual practice, and while they brought awareness and moments of peace, many emotional patterns continued to return. It was difficult at times because I genuinely wanted freedom from suffering, but I had not yet fully understood how deeply trauma and suppressed emotions can live inside the body and nervous system.
Another challenge was learning to trust myself. For a long time, I looked outside myself for validation, love, approval, and answers. Breathwork and deep inner work eventually helped me understand that true healing begins when we stop blaming life and start courageously looking within ourselves with honesty and compassion.
Professionally, building a healing practice also came with many obstacles. It takes courage to share deeply personal work in a world that often prioritizes productivity over emotional well-being. There were moments of self-doubt, financial uncertainty, fear of being seen, and the challenge of balancing my personal healing journey while holding space for others. As someone who comes from a more spiritual and heart-centered background, learning the business and technology side of creating an online presence, courses, and programs was also a big learning experience for me.
Another challenge is that many people are suffering silently but are also afraid to slow down, feel their emotions, or open themselves to healing. Creating safe, trauma-informed spaces where people feel supported and not judged has become incredibly important in my work.
At the same time, every challenge became part of my growth. The struggles taught me compassion, patience, humility, and the importance of authentic healing rather than quick fixes. Looking back, I can honestly say that the pain and difficulties became the doorway that led me to deeper awareness, purpose, and service. Today, those experiences allow me to connect with others not only as a teacher or facilitator, but as someone who has personally walked through healing, transformation, and inner awakening herself.
As you know, we’re big fans of Breathe of Love. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Breathe of Love is a trauma-informed breathwork and healing practice devoted to helping people reconnect with themselves through breath, meditation, mindfulness, emotional healing, and nervous system regulation. My work blends ancient spiritual wisdom with modern understanding of trauma, the body, and emotional well-being to create a deeply supportive and transformational healing experience.
At Breathe of Love, I offer private breathwork sessions, meditation guidance, healing circles, workshops, retreats, and practitioner training programs both online and in person. Many of the people who come to me are dealing with stress, anxiety, burnout, emotional pain, childhood wounds, relationship struggles, grief, or a deep sense of disconnection from themselves. My intention is to create a safe space where people can slow down, breathe, release emotional heaviness, and reconnect with inner peace, self-love, and authenticity.
What makes this work unique is that it comes not only from professional training, but from lived experience and over 30 years of personal inner work and meditation practice. I have studied and practiced many healing modalities including meditation facilitation, trauma-informed breathwork, yoga, Reiki, sound healing, somatic practices, and mindfulness-based approaches. Rather than offering quick fixes, my work focuses on gentle, embodied, long-term healing and self-awareness.
One of the things I am most proud of is creating a compassionate environment where people feel truly seen, supported, and emotionally safe. Many clients share that they feel lighter, calmer, more connected, and more accepting of themselves after working with me. I especially value helping people understand that emotional healing is not weakness — it is a courageous journey back to oneself.
I also recently created the “Breathe of Love: Breathwork for Awakening” practitioner certification training, which combines breathwork, nervous system awareness, trauma-informed facilitation, mindfulness, and spiritual growth. My vision is not only to help individuals heal themselves, but also to support others in becoming conscious, compassionate facilitators who can bring healing into their communities.
More than anything, I want readers to know that healing is possible. No matter how disconnected, overwhelmed, or emotionally stuck someone may feel, there is always a pathway back to love, awareness, inner peace, and wholeness.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that true healing begins when we stop running away from ourselves and start meeting ourselves with awareness, honesty, and compassion. For many years, I believed that peace, love, validation, or happiness would come from outside circumstances or other people. But over time, through meditation, breathwork, and deep inner work, I realized that the relationship we have with ourselves shapes everything.
I have also learned that healing is not about becoming perfect or “fixing” ourselves. It is about learning to accept, understand, and reconnect with the parts of ourselves that we may have rejected, suppressed, or ignored. So many people carry emotional pain silently while trying to appear strong on the outside. One of the greatest gifts of this work is discovering that vulnerability, feeling, and emotional openness are actually forms of strength.
Another important lesson has been the power of presence and slowing down. In today’s world, many people are constantly overstimulated, disconnected from their bodies, and trapped in survival mode. Breathwork and meditation taught me that healing often happens not through force, but through awareness, breath, stillness, and creating safety within the nervous system.
I’ve also learned that every struggle, challenge, or painful experience can become a doorway to growth and transformation if we are willing to learn from it. Some of my deepest pain eventually became the foundation for my purpose and service.
Most importantly, I have learned that love begins within. The more we reconnect with ourselves, trust ourselves, and soften toward ourselves, the more naturally peace, connection, and healing begin to flow into every area of life.
