Inspiring Conversations with Ania Gackowska of Heal With Ania LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ania Gackowska.

Hi Ania, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2013, and for years I was incredibly sick. I was constantly searching for answers and trying to understand what was happening in my body. Even during some of my hardest moments, I had this deep feeling inside that this didn’t have to be my life forever. I truly believed there had to be another way.

Eventually, I found the Medical Medium information, and that completely changed the direction of my journey. I started applying the protocols, learning more about supporting my body, and slowly began to see changes. It wasn’t something that happened overnight, it took consistency, patience, and a lot of faith in the process.

By 2020, I had reached a place where I was symptom-free and medication-free, and I’ve remained that way ever since. Going through that experience completely changed me, and it’s ultimately what led me to the work I do today. I wanted to take everything I had learned through my own experience and use it to give other people with ulcerative colitis hope, guidance, and the kind of support I wish I had when I was first diagnosed.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. My health journey itself was incredibly difficult. Living with ulcerative colitis affected so many parts of my life physically, emotionally, and mentally. There were times when I felt exhausted, discouraged, and frustrated because I was trying so hard to find answers and get my life back.

And even after getting my health to a much better place, building a business around my story came with a completely different set of challenges. I’ve had to learn how to trust myself, put myself out there, build a brand, create offers, and keep showing up even when the results weren’t immediate. There have definitely been moments where I questioned whether I was doing enough or whether the business was growing fast enough.

But I think all of those struggles have shaped the way I work today. They’ve taught me patience, consistency, resilience, and how important it is to keep moving forward even when you can’t see the full picture yet.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business, Heal With Ania LLC, was created from my own experience with ulcerative colitis and the years I spent trying to find answers for myself. Today, I help people with ulcerative colitis feel less overwhelmed and more empowered by giving them practical guidance, education, and support based on the approach that helped me personally.

I specialize in helping people navigate flares, understand what may be aggravating their symptoms, and create a more supportive daily routine around food, lifestyle, and wellness. I currently offer digital resources, including my Ulcerative Colitis Flare Emergency Reset and my more in-depth Flare to Freedom guide, as well as one-on-one coaching for people who want more personalized support.

What sets my brand apart is that I’m not speaking only from theory. I’ve lived through the fear, pain, exhaustion, and uncertainty that can come with ulcerative colitis. I know what it feels like to be desperate for answers, and I also know what it feels like to come out on the other side and get your life back. That lived experience is at the heart of everything I create.

I’m most proud that Heal With Ania LLC has become a place of hope for people who may feel like they’ve run out of options. My goal is never to make people feel pressured or powerless. I want them to feel informed, supported, and reminded that they can still have a beautiful future.

I also always want people to understand that I’m a holistic health coach, not a medical professional, and my work is meant to complement, not replace, appropriate medical care. Everything I share is rooted in my personal experience, education, and the wellness approach that helped me.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is my family, my health, and being truly present for the people I love.

Becoming sick with ulcerative colitis changed the way I look at life. There were years when so much of my energy went into simply surviving, getting through the day, and trying to feel like myself again. Because of that, I don’t take my health or my time with my children for granted.

I’m also a mom to a special needs son, and that has given me an even deeper understanding of what it means to show up with patience, strength, and love every single day. He needs me to be present, grounded, and able to advocate for him, and that makes taking care of myself feel even more important.

More than anything, I want to build a life where I can be there for my children, create meaningful memories with them, and have the freedom to enjoy the life I fought so hard to get back.

That’s also why my work means so much to me. I know what it feels like to fear that illness is taking your future away from you. I want other people with ulcerative colitis to know that their diagnosis does not have to define the rest of their story. I want them to feel hope, possibility, and the belief that there can still be so much life ahead of them.
