Hi Catherine, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I worked as a software engineer for eight years at a tech startup. After my son was born, I realized I wanted more flexibility in my schedule so I could spend more time with him. I left my job and began working as an independent contractor for a few different companies.
It was through one of those companies that I met Lauren Domaas, who is now my business partner. We connected instantly and quickly realized that our skill sets complemented each other: hers in design and mine in development. We also discovered that we both had the same hypothetical dream of starting our own business, but neither of us felt like we had the full range of experience to make it happen alone.
We are both moms with young kids, passionate about our work, and equally passionate about making the most of the time we have with our families. We get each other.
A few months later, Digital Cravings was born, with a vision of making branding and websites easier for small businesses.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the first few months, we were drowning in client work and had very little time to work on our own new business. We were a brand and web studio without a website for many months.
Slowly, that initial set of client projects came to an end, and we found ourselves facing the opposite challenge: how to find and connect with new clients.
Lauren and I each have more than a decade of experience in our respective fields, but Digital Cravings is still a new studio. Our portfolio is lean, and we are learning how to communicate the depth of our experience while continuing to build a body of work that reflects the kinds of projects we want to take on.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a brand and web studio specializing in branding, web design, and SEO/AEO for creatives and service-based small businesses that are ready to get found, trusted, and booked.
Lauren and I are passionate about creating solutions that work for businesses over the long term. We have both seen far too many small business websites that are holding great businesses back. A polished website is not just a nice-to-have. It is an investment that can pay for itself, because your brand and website are often the first digital impression your business makes.
As small business owners ourselves, we understand that there are many stages to building a business and that budget is always part of the conversation. We know that every platform has its strengths and weaknesses, and we are passionate about helping each business find the option that fits its needs best.

We love supporting small business owners who already have a lot on their plates. Small businesses are what make life unique. Every business needs a website, and not every entrepreneur loves to code as much as I do!
