Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacobo Laya Jr.

Hi Jacobo, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We are Jacobo and Mackerrlly, owners of Jac&Mac Photography, an endeavor we started together in 2008, as a husband and wife team, no only because we love photography, but more importantly, a focus on wedding photography because getting married, aside from our children, it has been the greatest gift God has given us. 26 years later, happily married, and 17 years in business, we are grateful for all the ups and downs Life has shown us, not only providing Pictures That Speak Louder Than Words for clients, but also sharing life experiences, failures and achievements, but always forward and upwards in God’s hands!!!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We started Jac&Mac Photography while I was still serving in the Navy. Through múltiples deployment, and raising our first three children, Macky and I still manage to bring Jac&Mac Photography to life, built our brand, and managed to stay with in competition with high end competitors, while always running our business partt time.

After retiring from my naval service and starting my new career in Defence acquisition, 14 years later, and our fourth child borned, Jac&Mac Photography still managed to grow as our family grew as well.

More importantly, Jac&Mac Photography was God’s back up tool when economic struggles hit, from COVID, to be being let go of our regular jobs. Jac&Mac Photography always delivering Pictures That Speak Louder Than Words!!!!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Jac&Mac Photography LLC. had grown in its 17 years of business.

Our motto: To tell the story of our clients, whether is their wedding, a Corporate Event, Quinceañera, Business environmental, or Portraits, through our lenses, and deliver Pictures That Speak Louder Than Words.

We started our brand the moment we started our business, Jac&Mac Photography, for we knew that branding is key to standing out in our industry, delivering quality and quantity to our clients.

What makes us different? For events, We don’t charge by the hour, nor by the number of pictures WE take, rather our packages are based on the types of events, the phases of the event our clients want covered, and what products they want to have. For Portraits sessions, we don’t charge for the number of pictures we take, nor the number of poses or people in a session. Your block of time is set for our clients to get Pictures That Speak Louder Than Words.

Our prints and products are of the highest quality, because quality is valued over quantity. Yet our prices are compatible because we don’t depend on our photography to make a living.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
At Jac&Mac Photography we certainly take our risks seriously, for without risks, one cannot break to new grounds.

From trying new platforms, technology, and networks, exploring new paths for growth is key to remain competitive in this industry.

Do they all work? NO. For example:

Vendor, like us, depending on marketing and, CRMs, and SEOs platforms to get your business off the ground, trying to be found by prospects in the hope to close a sale!!! Platforms promise their strategies will brings hundreds, even millions of leads to your site, yet.

When vendors respond promptly and thoughtfully to future client prospectives, as we believe clients’s time is valuable, vendors, like me, approach our craft with professionalism and care. However, when prospects choose not to respond after a vendors makes initial contact, it presents a challenge.

If only prospects considered when they search for vendors on platforms such as Yelp, or others alike, vendors don’t get upset if a prospect doesn’t close a sale with us, but it is bothersome when leads don’t respond when we have reached out to them. Whether lead chooses a vendor or not, prospect leads need to respect and understand, vendors are trying to earn a living too, this is why we pay for such service platforms and the right things is for proapects to respond to leads, this costs us, vendors, money.
We understand prospects are exploring their options, and we don’t expect every lead to turn into a booking. But whether you choose to move forward or not, a simple reply—yes or no—goes a long way. It allows us to serve you better, manage our resources, and continue doing the work we love.

We have respond to requests professionally and with urgency, yet, prospects often do not respond to us!!!! This is often frustrating and money and time lost.
