Inspiring Conversations with Lauryn Kelley of Bouquets & Bustles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauryn Kelley.

Hi Lauryn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started interning for a local-to-me wedding planner when I was in college, who I continue to assist to this day. After I graduated with a communications degree, I worked as an event coordinator at a vineyard until COVID put a halt to events. I took a personal step back from hospitality as my full time job, and took a job in healthcare. In 2021, once everything began opening back up fully, I opened my business. My first wedding was in June of 2022, and since then, I have completed over 50 weddings under my business Bouquets & Bustles!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Overall, I have had wonderful couples and experiences. This is not to say I have not had learning opportunities along the way. Each wedding I learn new ways I can better myself and my business. Weddings are an extremely emotional, and navigating that can be difficult, but rain and wind are my biggest opponents as of late!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Bouquets & Bustles ?
Bouquets & Bustles offers wedding planning and wedding coordination. The goal, overall, is to relieve stress from couples and their families. I hope to offer a safe space to all couples, where they can prioritize their wants and wedding dreams.

I strive to promote community over competition. I can only take on so many weddings per year/per month, so having relationships with other talented planners/coordinators I can refer inquires to is very important!

I am so proud to have wonderful past couples, I am able to share past albums and reviews from them on my website.

I want your readers to know that while Bouquets & Bustles is located in the Shenandoah Valley, I am open to traveling! I am here for my couples & will help in anyway I can!

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I am an only child, I grew up being very shy and introverted. I took dance classes, enjoyed crafting, and loved animals. Today, few things have changed. I am still very much an introverted person, but assertive when need-be. I love to craft, especially crochet, and I have three Scottish terriers!
