Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My love affair in the wedding industry began while working at a premier wedding venue as a marketing & venue manager in Maryland. From there, I was able to hone in on the aspect of planning as an associate planner under esteemed companies in the DMV area. Just a little over a year ago, I was able to turn this little dream of starting a wedding planning & design company into a beautiful reality. I am so lucky to be able to celebrate love stories in such an authentic way. Every wedding designed is grounded in meaning, shaped by intentionality, & elevated through design that feels natural yet refined.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There’s an undeniable fear that comes with building your own company. The persistent question of whether you’re truly ready, or if you ever will be. Many people reach a point where they realize they’ve been moving through a cycle that no longer fulfills them. I found myself in an unhealthy work environment, that was disconnecting my love for events. Eventually, it became impossible to ignore the question, that if I loved planning and designing weddings, why wasn’t I pursuing it? I’m incredibly grateful to be surrounded by an unwavering support system, both from my loved ones and within the wedding industry.

The foundation of the brand was built witnessing the very essence of true love growing up within my maternal grandparents. The timeless, selfless, infatuated type of love you could not comprehend existed outside of a film. To be loved so fiercely and fully, to weather any storm. The most significant & elegant gift my grandmother had given me was a gorgeous necklace of pearls. The name we had given my grandfather as children was Poppy. Pearl & Poppy Wedding Co. is an endearment to their once in a lifetime love. The love you can truly only believe with your own two eyes.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I earned my undergraduate degree in entrepreneurship, initially hoping it would guide me toward a path within business – whether that meant marketing, accounting, or finance (although I never was partial to numbers). I never truly imagined I would fall so deeply in love with the wedding industry, or that I’d ultimately take the leap to build this brand and have the opportunity celebrate so many beautiful love stories.
