Today we’d like to introduce you to Madre.
Hi Madre, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story is simple, I am a Curandera (healer) and a medium in my culture they call us Espiritista, I have always had my gift of communication to the spirit world since I was a child, and it was developed by the elders I was blessed to have in my life, my grandmother, aunts and of course spirit. They taught me herbal remedies, energy work, and many cultural workings as I grew up. I noticed how this type of work both healed those in need but was also demonized by those who don’t understand it. So I made it my mission to provide a safe space for those of like mind, and for educating those who were willing to understand. So, in 2000 I opened my first store front location, Madre Luna’s LLC where we held space for community gatherings and connection. Then came the pandemic and my phone rang so much more then I had people walking in the store front, so I continued my work online. We tried again to open a location back in 2023 but found that online orders and readings where really keeping me so busy that I made the bittersweet choice to move completely online so we did and never looked back. I’m incredibly grateful to be in service to the community.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been a few struggles. The Pandemic was initially a struggle, or so I thought. It actually was one of my biggest blessings due to the fact that it allowed me to open my eyes to other opportunities to be of service to others while expanding my reach.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I am so happy to see that there has been a huge shift happening in a very positive way in my industry, many are opening their minds and heart to this type of work, and many are coming into awareness and consciousness of the mind, body and spirit connection. I’m also super excited that there have been many scientific studies that support this type of work and so it’s not looked at as a woo woo practice, but rather scientifically studied and I look forward to new developments that support this industry thus enabling this work to continue to grow. The world needs more healers to hold space and to support one another in our work
