Today we’d like to introduce you to Marie Barjon.
Hi Marie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a Navy Veteran and currently a career civil servant in the Hampton roads area. Skin care was always a passion of mine and decided to attend Esthetics school at a later point of my life. I want to help others by doing corrective skin care. I am only doing it part time right now until I retire from the government.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road. I work full-time and I am a single mom full time. I work from 7 in the morning til 4 in the afternoon. From there, I go to school for my Master’s in esthetics until 11 pm. I have my small business on the weekends in order to help others. The biggest struggle right now is promoting myself and using social media.
We’ve been impressed with 757esthetics, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I specialized in corrective skin care. Anti-aging and acne specialist. What sets me apart is that I take into account your lifestyle, skin concerns and goals, including your budget. I research every single product that I recommend. I currently represent Circadia but if you cannot afford Circadia, I will do my research and recommend over the counter products that is best for your skin and goals.
I currently offer stickly facials and all my facials are customized. There is no one size fits all approach.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I currently live in Chesapeake but my business is located in Virginia Beach. I just love the diversity and the feeling of a big city but still have a not so busy. I am from Miami. I get best of both worlds here.
