Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydnee King.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Queen of Esthetics started from my love for the beauty industry and a dream of creating something that was completely my own. I became a licensed esthetician and went on to become a 3x certified lash artist, continuing my education so I could offer my clients quality services while always prioritizing healthy skin and natural lash health.
When I first started, I was honestly amazed by how quickly everything came together. I gained my clientele extremely fast through word of mouth, social media, and the support of the people around me. What started as a dream quickly turned into a busy business, and I found myself growing much faster than I ever expected. I’m incredibly grateful for how many people trusted me early on and continued to support me as I built my name.
As my clientele grew, so did my passion for the industry. I continued expanding my services, furthering my education, and learning the business side of being an entrepreneur. Queen of Esthetics eventually became so much more than just a beauty business, it became a space where my clients can relax, feel confident, and take time for themselves.
Today, I’m proud to have my own space inside Studio Blush in Christiansburg, Virginia, where I offer customized facials, dermaplaning, waxing, lash services, and brow services. Looking back at how quickly Queen of Esthetics grew from the beginning to where it is today is something I’m incredibly proud of.
I’m so thankful for every client who has supported me, trusted me, referred their friends and family, and allowed me to turn something I love into a career. I’m excited to continue growing, learning, and seeing where Queen of Esthetics takes me next!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges was moving to a completely new state where I only knew a few people and deciding to start my very first business there. I was building Queen of Esthetics from the ground up while also trying to adjust to a new place and build a new community around me.
Thankfully, I gained my clientele extremely quickly, which I’m incredibly grateful for, but that also meant I had to learn a lot very quickly. Since this was my first business, I had to figure out everything from managing clients and scheduling to creating policies, marketing myself, handling finances, and learning the business side of the beauty industry, all while continuing to grow my skills as an esthetician and lash artist.
There were definitely times when it felt overwhelming because I was learning so much as I went, but those challenges pushed me to become more confident and independent. Moving somewhere new and taking the chance on myself was a huge step, and building Queen of Esthetics from the ground up has taught me so much about myself as both a business owner and a person.
Looking back, I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come, especially knowing that I started in a new state with only a few connections and was able to build a loyal clientele and a business that I’m truly passionate about.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Queen of Esthetics is a beauty and skincare business specializing in customized skincare, lashes, brows, and waxing. I’m a licensed esthetician and 3x certified lash artist, and I offer services including customized facials, dermaplaning, lash extensions, lash lifts and tints, brow services, and full body waxing.
One of the things I’m most known for is my dermaplaning facials and my lash work. I’m very passionate about creating beautiful results while still prioritizing the health of my clients’ skin and natural lashes. With lash extensions especially, natural lash health is always my #1 priority. I want my clients to have beautiful lashes without compromising the health of their natural ones.
What sets Queen of Esthetics apart is the personalized experience I try to give every client. I don’t believe in a one size fits all approach. Whether someone is coming in for a facial, lashes, brows, or waxing, I want their service to be customized to them and their individual needs. I also put a huge emphasis on education and continuing to learn, because I want to make sure I’m always providing the best services and recommendations I can.
Brand wise, I’m most proud of how much Queen of Esthetics has grown while still feeling personal. I built my clientele extremely quickly after moving to a new state where I only knew a few people, and seeing people continue to trust me, refer their friends and family, and come back consistently means so much to me.
I want readers to know that Queen of Esthetics is a place where beauty and self care come together. Whether someone wants glowing skin, beautiful lashes, defined brows, or simply an hour to relax and feel taken care of, my goal is for every client to leave feeling confident, refreshed, and excited about their results.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was always a very organized and driven person. I’ve always loved having things planned out and keeping everything neat and put together. I was also drawn to anything beauty related from a young age. I loved skincare, makeup, hair, and anything that allowed me to be creative and make people feel good about themselves.
I was involved in cheerleading and gymnastics basically my entire life, which taught me a lot about discipline, commitment, and working hard toward something. Those activities were a huge part of my childhood and definitely shaped who I am today.
Outside of that, I’ve always been a huge animal lover and extremely family-oriented. My family has always been very important to me, and I’ve always loved spending time with the people and animals I care about most. Looking back, I think a lot of the things I loved growing up, being organized, creative, beauty focused, hardworking, and caring—are still a huge part of who I am today and the way I run my business.
