Today we’d like to introduce you to Amira Noor.
Hi Amira, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my career in modeling in 2018 after moving to Mumbai, which was both exciting and a little intimidating as I was in a completely new city, diving into a competitive industry. I got my start with television commercials and print campaigns for brands like L’Oréal, Vivo, and ESPN, and slowly built my confidence and experience. From there, my work began to take me beyond India as I’ve been lucky to appear in American TV commercials, music videos, and collaborate with brands across Los Angeles and Europe.
In 2019, I took a big step into acting with my debut in the Netflix Bollywood film Love Aaj Kal 2, which opened up a whole new world creatively. At the same time, I’ve always been passionate about music, I compose and write my own songs, earned a degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music in 2022, and have since released three singles.
Now, I split my time between Los Angeles and Mumbai, balancing modeling, acting, and music. It’s been a journey of constantly pushing myself, embracing new challenges, and following the opportunities that excite me the most.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not, it’s been full of ups and downs. The industry is tough and full of rejection, and moving to a new country brought its own challenges, like learning a new language and navigating a completely different culture. Starting over in America had similar challenges, but through it all, I’ve been incredibly lucky to meet amazing people who have guided me, supported me, and opened doors along the way. Those experiences taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work as an actress, model, musician, and influencer, and I’ve been fortunate to build a career that spans multiple countries and creative fields. In modeling, I specialize in both commercial and high-fashion work, having collaborated with brands across India, Europe, and the U.S., including an American TV commercial for Macy’s. I’ve also appeared in music videos for major artists and labels such as T-Series. As an influencer, I work with brands to create engaging content that resonates with audiences and showcases my creativity. As an actress, I made my debut in the Netflix Bollywood film Love Aaj Kal 2, and I continue to explore roles that challenge me creatively. Music has always been a huge passion, I compose and write my own songs, earned a degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music in 2022, and have released three singles so far. I love being able to tell stories and connect with people through music.
What I’m most proud of is being able to balance all these creative paths, modeling, acting, music, and influencing, while continuing to grow in each of them. I think what sets me apart is my willingness to embrace new challenges, work across cultures, and combine my skills in multiple disciplines. I also try to bring authenticity to everything I do, whether it’s performing in front of a camera, writing a song, or collaborating with a brand to create meaningful content.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I find a lot of inspiration and grounding in music. I listen to it constantly, and it really fuels my creativity, especially when I’m writing songs. I also love listening to podcasts, like Jay Shetty’s, because hearing someone I admire share their experiences and insights always motivates and inspires me. Beyond that, having a close group of friends is incredibly important to me. The industry can be challenging and sometimes lonely, so having that support system of people who understand you and cheer you on makes all the difference.
