Life & Work with Cailyn Siegman of Virginia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cailyn Siegman.

Hi Cailyn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my floral business in 2018 after the unexpected loss of my dog, Brin. During that time, I found myself pouring my energy into creating something meaningful, and I opened around Mother’s Day. What began during a difficult season grew into something that connected me deeply with my community. Over the years, I’ve learned so much and have been incredibly grateful for the support and relationships that have grown alongside the business. Brin remains a part of the business even today, as she is the dog featured in our logo — a lasting reminder of where it all began and the inspiration behind the first dog-themed floral business in our area.
Flowers have become my creative outlet and a way to celebrate people’s lives and moments in a very personal way. I truly love getting to create as an artist, but more than that, I love getting to create something that reflects the person receiving it or the story behind an event. I always prefer to talk with clients directly and learn about what brings them or their loved ones joy, because I believe flowers should feel personal rather than one-size-fits-all.
Loss has quietly been a thread throughout my journey and continues to shape the meaning behind my work. My shop dog, Abby, was by my side from the beginnings of this adventure until recently. She came to the shop with me every day and joined me on deliveries, becoming a familiar and cherished part of the business itself. Abby passed in April at an old age, after living a life that remained full of energy, spirit, and joy right up until her last few weeks. I’m deeply grateful for the years we shared and for the fact that her days were filled with life, comfort, and love. Walking into the shop feels a little different these days, but joy remains at the heart of what I do. Our motto, “Beauty Remembered,” continues to serve as a reminder to honor the people, pets, and memories that stay with us while continuing to create beauty for new moments and celebrations.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
For the most part, it has been a pretty smooth road. There have definitely been some bumps along the way — unexpected moves, the challenges that come with running a small business, navigating the floral industry, and making it through COVID. But overall, I’ve been incredibly fortunate. I’ve been surrounded by an amazing community and have been able to continue growing because of the people who have shown up for me, encouraged me, and believed in what I do.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We create florals for weddings, funerals, birthdays, anniversaries, baby and wedding showers, sympathy arrangements, and everything in between. Really, we do a little bit of everything. As much as I love weddings and larger events, I also love being part of the smaller, everyday moments. Flowers are present in so many parts of life — celebrations, milestones, and even difficult seasons. Even at the end of life, we have the honor of creating something meaningful and beautiful for families during a time when that can matter so much.
What I’m most proud of is the personal connection behind what we do. I want every arrangement to feel like it was created specifically for that person or moment rather than feeling generic or routine. I love getting to know my clients and hearing about their vision, personality, or the person receiving the flowers. I think that personal approach is what sets us apart and allows us to create something that feels more memorable and meaningful.
