Life & Work with Coquina of Virginia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Coquina.

Hi Coquina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been crafty 🙂 I love to be creative. We’re a military family and we have two boys. I work full time. But I’m a hustler at heart! I have a very determined and spunky spirit😅.
It’s become my own little girly space🥰 I love making spunky designs and ribbons and sparkles. Our boys love to make cool little creations, or spunky science experiments. They are so cool. I love watching their creation take over.
I have always had an entrepreneur type of spirit and trying to make something take off” I started to take an interest in hats and paints, colors and designs and kept trying and pushing forward. I wouldn’t have made it this far with out my husband he’s truly the most genuine soul and he’s always supported me 115% even in the lows he’s fully behind me reminding me we’ve got this” I have learned a lot about myself and what I like through this journey.
My husband is very supportive and I think that’s really been an huge part of all of this.
Honestly, when someone buys one of my hats I feel like my insides could burst my heart is so full😅 my husband has really given me the love and support to thrive in my own special space. He’s always at my pop ups, awake at early hours to help me set up and then break down. He cheers me on with every sale. He’s my biggest fan besides our boys and honestly, I’ve met some really incredible woman on this journey as well which I didn’t expect and I honestly needed and I’m so grateful for that. It’s been a very exciting adventure meeting new people, making new friends, learning new ways to do things, hearing insight it’s an incredible group of woman that I’ve been so blessed to get to experience.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not easy. I have no idea what I’m doing. But, I truly feel like God has placed this dream on me for some reason so I’m just going with the flow. Ha! Recently my husband went on two deployments back to back and has come back the June before” and it was really hard and these dreams had to wait. I work a full time job as well and we have two super cool kiddos. But, really we are so stinking blessed. We have everything together and I’m so grateful to have a husband that supports my silly little dreams” and 100 ideas!: )!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work full time at an accounting firm.
I’m most proud of my husband and our boys. My husband because his world changed quickly but he doesn’t allow it to switch up his mood or focus. He’s an incredible and extremely dedicated father.
Our boys, our youngest has gotten sick a lot since he was little but he’s the toughest little dude we know!
Our oldest because he’s been through some experiences he’s handled and taken on the cheek and still moved forward and grown into the sweetest, spunkiest soul and the best big brother Ever!! Im the luckiest Mom🥹💗

I’m.known , I think either my vibrant personality😅🙌🏼💕 or just the unique designs u make. They are just fun and everyone has their own cool ideas that they trust me with to make and it’s just been a really cool experience!

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love how clean and nice the parks are here. We really love them. The schools here are also really incredible. I think what I like least is the odd traffic patterns and merge lanes also although the beach and sunrises and sunsets are beautiful. They just wont ever match the beaches back home in Florida💕 Its a part of my heart and soul forever!!
