Today we’d like to introduce you to Yrvanie Lynch.
Hi Yrvanie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey has two sides, and they’ve shaped each other more than people expect.
I started in engineering. I earned my Master’s in Plastics Engineering at UMass Lowell, and engineering was always a part of me because it helped me confirm how I process & problem solve and my first ever role was being a process engineer.
While I was building that career, I was also building something of my own. I launched YSJVISAGE as a luxury bridal makeup business here in Providence. It started with the artistry: helping every bride feel like the most confident version of herself on one of the biggest days of her life. That work taught me how much trust is involved. You’re not just doing makeup, you’re shaping how a woman sees herself in photos she’ll keep forever.
As the business grew, other artists started asking me how I booked clients, priced my services, and ran things behind the scenes. That’s where my two worlds met. The same structure I used in corporate project management, I brought to beauty. Education became part of the brand through classes, guides, and eventually my signature framework, VVP, which grew into VVP Academy.
Then my life evolved. I got married, I became Yrvanie Lynch, and the brand grew with me. YSJVISAGE became The YL Edit: more refined, more editorial, and a better reflection of who I am now.
Today I’m building The YL Edit and VVP Academy side by side, using AI and smart systems to run the business, the same way I use them in my corporate work. I started with one bride and an engineering mindset. Now my goal is to help beauty entrepreneurs see that they can be artists and CEOs at the same time.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t been smooth, and I think that’s part of why I’m so passionate about what I teach now.
The biggest challenge has been capacity. I’ve built this business while working full time in corporate. That meant early mornings, late nights, and weekends booked with brides. For a long time I was the artist, the marketer, the bookkeeper, and the assistant all at once. I had to learn that working harder wasn’t the answer. I needed systems. So I did what I do at my day job: I mapped out my week, gave each day a purpose, and eventually brought on a virtual assistant so I could stop doing everything myself.
The second struggle was knowing my worth. Like a lot of artists, I undercharged in the beginning because I was afraid of losing clients. It took time to understand that pricing isn’t just about the service, it’s about the experience, the expertise, and the trust you bring. That lesson became a foundation of my VVP framework, because I see so many talented artists stuck in the same place I was.
The third was the technology. I didn’t want to pay for tools that didn’t fit how I worked, so I taught myself to build my own website, booking funnels, and CRM. There were a lot of moments where things broke, payments didn’t connect, and I had to figure it out late at night. But it made me resourceful, and now those same skills help other entrepreneurs too.
And finally, the rebrand. Moving from YSJVISAGE to The YL Edit meant letting go of a name I’d built for years and rebuilding everything: the website, the content, the materials. It was scary, but it was the right decision, because the brand needed to reflect who I’ve become.
Every one of those challenges taught me something, and every one of them shows up in how I serve my clients and students today.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At my core, I’m a luxury bridal makeup artist and a beauty business educator.
On the artistry side, through The YL Edit, I specialize in bridal beauty. My style is refined and editorial: skin that looks like skin, polished, timeless, and made to photograph beautifully. My brides come to me because they want to look like themselves on their best day, not like someone else. I also offer makeup classes, guides, and lookbooks for women who want to learn to do their own makeup with confidence.
On the education side, through VVP Academy, I help beauty entrepreneurs, like makeup artists, lash techs, estheticians, and hairstylists, build real businesses around their talent. My framework, VVP, focuses on visibility, value, and profitability, because so many artists are incredibly skilled but don’t have the systems to grow. I teach through workshops and one-on-one consulting, and I also build websites, booking funnels, and client management systems for beauty professionals.
I think what I’m known for is bringing structure to creativity. People come to me for the artistry, but they stay because I make the whole experience feel organized, calm, and intentional.
What I’m most proud of is that I built all of this while working full time in corporate. Every system, every class, every framework came from real experience, not theory. And I’m proud of the women I’ve helped, whether that’s a bride who sees herself in her photos and tears up, or an artist who finally raises her prices and gets booked.
What sets me apart is that I live in both worlds. I have an engineering background and years of experience as a project manager in corporate tech, and I bring that thinking into beauty. I use AI and automation to run my business, and I teach other artists to do the same. Most educators teach either the craft or the business. I can teach both, because I do both every day.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is legacy, and the people I get to build it with.
First, my family. My marriage is the foundation everything else sits on. When I rebranded and became Yrvanie Lynch, it wasn’t just a name change, it was a reminder that I’m building something bigger than myself. I want what I create to outlast me and to give my family freedom and stability for generations.
Second, women. Whether it’s a bride sitting in my chair, a student learning to do her own makeup, or an artist trying to turn her talent into a business, I care about how women see themselves and what they believe they’re capable of.And third, integrity. I believe in being honest about where you are and doing the work to get where you’re going. I don’t like shortcuts or overpromising, in business or in life. My clients and students trust me, and I take that seriously.
Why does it matter? Because I’ve seen both sides. I’ve been the person juggling a full-time job and a dream, unsure if it would work. Now I get to show other women that you don’t have to choose between being creative and being successful. If my story helps one woman bet on herself, that’s what makes all of it worth it.
